Answer:
Why quran in Arabic
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Your
Question: ….can you tell me why is the quran written in arabic?
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 14 Surah
Ibraheem verse 4:
4 And We never sent a Messenger save with the language of his nation,
that he might make (Our Revealed Message) clear for them.
It is the ‘Way’ or the ‘Sunnah’ of Allah Subhanah that
whenever He intends to appoint a Messenger to a people or a nation, He Reveals
His Guidance unto His appointed Messenger in the language spoken by the
appointed Messenger and the people of his times.
The Lord Most High Revealed His Previous Scriptures unto
His appointed Prophets in the language spoken by them and the people they were
sent to…..The Torah was revealed to Prophet Musa (a.s.) in the language spoken
and understood by him and his people (ie. Hebrew); the Injeel (Gospel) was
revealed to Prophet Isa ibn Maryam (a.s.) in the language spoken and understood
by him and his people (ie. Aramaic); and the Glorious Quran was revealed to
Prophet Mohamed (saws) in the Arabic language spoken and understood by him and
the people he (saws) first addressed, ie. the Arabs.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah
Zukhruf verses 1-3:
Haa Meem.
By this lucid (clear or open) Book (The Al-Quran). We have made it an Arabic Quran, so that you may understand it.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 41 Surah Ha
Mim As Sajdaah verse 2-4:
This (Al-Quran) is a Revelation from the
All-Compassionate, the Most-Merciful, Allah.
A Book whose verses are well-expounded, an Arabic Quran for the people who want to understand, and a
giver of good news and a warner.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 19 Surah
Maryam verse 97:
O Mohamed, We
have made this Quran easy, and sent it down in your tongue so that you
should give good news to the pious and warn the stubborn people.
The ‘mother-tongue’ or the ‘native’ language of the Last
and Final Messenger of Allah, Prophet Mohammed (saws), and the first addressees
of the Glorious Quran (ie. the Arabs) was Arabic…..thus it was only in
accordance with the ‘Sunnah’ or ‘Way’ of The Lord Most Exalted to Reveal His
Last and Final Message unto His Last and Final Messenger (saws) in the language
spoken and understood by His appointed Prophet (saws) and the nation he was
sent to guide…ie. Arabic.
Your
Question: ….why was it nt revealed in other language???
It is the ‘Sunnah’ or the ‘Way’ of the Lord Most Wise to
always reveal His Guidance in the native language of His appointed Prophet and
the people or nation to whom he is initially sent to warn.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 41 Surah
Haa Meem verse 44:
44 Had We sent this Book
as a Qur'an (in a language) other than Arabic, they would have sure said:
"Why are not its Verses explained in detail? What? (A Book) not in Arabic and (a
Messenger) an Arab?" Say (to them O Prophet (saws)): ‘It (the
Quran) is a guide and a healing to those who believe; and for those who believe
not there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes);
they are (as it were) being called from a place, far distant!’
As it always is the norm, even when the Lord Most Exalted
Reveals His Guidance upon His appointed Messenger in the ‘native’ language
spoken by the Prophet and the nation he is sent to….the absolute and
overwhelming majority of the nation always denies the Guidance of the Lord!!! Just
imagine the chaos if the Lord were to Reveal His Guidance to a Prophet who was
an Arab by decent in a foreign language (English or French or Spanish or
Chinese or Hindi, etc.)!!!! Neither the Prophet (saws) upon whom the Message
was revealed, nor the people whom he was sent to warn would understand or
comprehend aught of the Message!!!!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah
Anaam verse 157-158:
Now that a clear proof, a Guidance and Blessing, has come to you from
your Lord, who can be more unjust than
the one who treats Our Revelations as false and turns away from them? We will inflict the severest torment on
those who turn away from Our Revelations because of their aversion. Do the people now await that the Angels
should come down before them? Or that
your Lord (Most Exalted) may Himself come down?
Or that the manifest Signs of your Lord should appear?
Such is the overwhelming Truth presented by the appointed
Prophets and the Divine Books of the Lord that those who possess a sound or
pure heart and are desperate to seek Guidance from their Lord, they would
recognize and accept the Prophet and the Guidance as the Truth from their Lord,
without inventing or seeking any barriers (like race, or language, etc.)……and
those whose hearts are hard and perverted, who assume themselves to be
self-sufficient, and are inherently averse to the Guidance from their Lord
Creator; such evildoers will challenge, deny, and reject the Truth from their
Lord even if The Lord had sent His Book written on paper and they touched it
with their own hands!!!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah
Anaam verse 7:
(O Prophet) even if We had sent down to you a
Book written on paper, and even if they
had touched it with their own hands, the
disbelievers would have said, “This is nothing but manifest sorcery!”.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
