Go hajj with sons money.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalamwalaikum,

A boy married, he wants to take his parents for haj. The parents are well of, they want to do haj and say that we have our own money so have to do with our own money, the boy insists that he is going to spend. the question is that the parents think that they cannot do their haj with their sons money. Can't the boy take them on his own spenditure.

Answer:

Go hajj with son’s money

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 3523  Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As

A man came to the Prophet (saws) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (saws), I have property and children, and my father finishes (or uses) my property.’ He (saws) replied: ‘You and your property (both) belong to your father!  Your children come from the pleasantest of what you earn; so enjoy from the earning of your children.’

In light of the above absolutely clear guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws), the son and his property both belong to the father!

If the parents are blessed with abundance by their Lord and wish to perform their obligatory Hajj with their own wealth, they are well within their rights to do so.  If Allah Subhanah has blessed them with a righteous son who insists on bearing the full expense of their Hajj, there is absolutely no harm or sin upon the parents in accepting their son’s offer…for both, the son and his wealth, in fact belong to the parents in the Sight of Shariah.

Either which way the parents choose to perform the Hajj, rest assured that both ways are lawful and neither one of the two ways has more merit or earns more reward compared to the other.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
