Dua to improve speech
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Assalam Alaikum,
I have seen that
many people have knowledge about Islam but they cannot explain it properly to
people.
What should they
do ?
Is there a dua in
Quran that will help improve our speech ? If yes, can you please send it to us
in arabic as well as the english translation ?
Jazak Allah..

Answer:
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can
misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We
bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Public speaking is an art; and as with all art, it can be acquired through study, learning,
striving, and experience. There are many courses or classes that
teach or improve one’s aspect of public speaking, and if one is sincere in his intention to serve the cause of
Allah Subhanah by giving public lectures,
he may start by acquiring these basic skills taught in these courses.
Although, I am a terrible public speaker myself, I know a lot of good brothers in Islam who
are very good speakers; and every one
of them declares that once they get through the initial hesitation of speaking
in front of an audience, and they
beseech Allah Subhanah to help and guide them;
any person, who sincerely wants
to strive in the Cause of Allah Subhanah,
can become a good speaker.
The dua or supplication of Prophet Musa (a.s.) beseeching Allah Subhanah to remove his impediment in speech when he was commanded by Allah Subhanah to go to the court of Firaun is one of the best supplications one can make from the Holy Quran:
Allah Says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 20 Surah Taha verses 25-28:
25 (Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my
breast;"
26 "Ease my task for me;
27 "And remove the impediment from my speech.
28 "So they may understand what I say:
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in
Islam,
