One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Jabir (r.a.) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) as saying: "Do not eat with your left hand, because the Shaytaan eats and drinks with his left hand.``

Related by Muslim.

 

What about the people who are left handed ? Thnaks

Answer:

 

Are left handed allowed to eat with left hand

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

The Messenger of Allah (saws) categorically prohibited the believers from eating or drinking with their left hands.

 

Eating and drinking is not a precision act like surgery or writing or painting etc. which one can only perform with their dominant hand…..eating and drinking is a habit which can be performed by either hand.

 

If statistics are to be believed, 90-93% of all human beings are right handed.  If the majority of the disbelievers who are naturally right-handed can develop a habit to eat with their left hands, the minority of believers who are left handed can sure develop the habit to eat with their right hands for the sake and pleasure of their Lord Creator.

 

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
