Is it three or two daughters? Please illustrate, and thanks for your enlightening ahadith.

 

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

'If anyone cares for three daughters, disciplines them, marries them, and does good to them, he will go to Paradise.'

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 5128          Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri

Answer:

 

Hadith three daughters paradise

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

Respected brother, such was the state of the people in the ‘days of ignorance’ before the advent of Islam that the parents of the girl would bury their daughters alive.  Although the above quoted hadith gives the glad tidings of Paradise to a person who cares for three daughters, there are several other authentic narrations where the glad tidings are given to even those who care for two daughters. And Allah Alone Knows Best.

 

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.499         Narrated by Aisha

A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking (for some alms), but she found nothing with me except one date which I gave to her and she divided it between her two daughters, and did not eat anything herself, and then she got up and went away. Then the Prophet (saws) came in and I informed him about this story. He (saws) said, "Whoever is put to trial by these daughters and he treats them generously (with benevolence) then these daughters will act as a shield for him from Hell-Fire."
