Disbeliever mocks jest ignorant.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Dear
Brother,
If you encounter a non-muslim everyday who makes an effort to make some comment
in Islam indirectly, is it better not to get in an argument with them in case
they start saying something even more vicious then the first comment? For
example, i know this person does so to get me started but i simply not pay
attention.

Answer:
Disbeliever mocks
jest ignorant
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Allah
says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah An-Nahl Verse 125:
Invite
to the way of your Lord with wisdom and excellent admonition and argue with
people in the best manner. Your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His
Way and who is Rightly guided.
A believer is not a believer until he wishes well for his
fellow human beings, and it is only an extension of one’s sincere concern for
the state and fate of one’s disbelieving brethren in the Hereafter which should
encourage and inspire the believer to invite his disbelieving brethren to the
Truth of Islam.
The duty which the Lord Creator has laid upon the believer
is only to invite the disbelievers to the Truth of Al-Islam in the best
possible manner….to accept or reject their invitation is a choice the
disbeliever would have make himself.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 27 Surah
Naml verses 1-6:
Taa Seen.
These are the verses of the Quran and the lucid (clear and open)
Book; a guidance and good news for those
believers who establish the Salaat, and
pay the Zakaat; and they are the ones
who fully believe in the Hereafter. The
fact is that We have made the misdeeds of those who deny the Hereafter seem
fair to them; therefore, they stray about blindly. They are the ones for whom there is an evil
chastisement, and in the Hereafter they
shall be the worst losers. And (O
Mohamed), you are most surely receiving
this Quran from the One, Who is the All
Wise, All Knowing.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 30 Surah
Rum verses 58-60:
We have set forth in this Quran every sort of
argument to make the people understand;
but whatever ‘aayah’ you may bring, the disbelievers will certainly say,
“You are following falsehood”. Thus
does Allah seal up the hearts of those who understand not. So, patiently perservere; for surely the
promise of Allah is True. And let not
those who have no certainty of faith,
shake your firmness.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah
Nahl verse 82:
But if they turn away, your only responsibility is to convey the
plain Message of Truth! They recognize
the blessing of Allah, yet they deny
it, for the majority of them are not
inclined to accept the Truth!
Respected sister, if after your very best and genuine
efforts you find that the disbeliever you are inviting to the Truth for his own
benefit mocks or makes jest of the Truth you are inviting them to……then it
would indeed be best to leave them alone until they are ultimately faced with
their Lord Creator who will inform them in Truth of all that they did!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah
Kahf verses 56-57:
56 We only send the Messengers to give glad tidings and to give warnings:
but the disbelievers dispute with vain argument in order therewith to weaken
the Truth; and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact
that they are warned!
57 And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his
Lord but turns away from them forgetting the (deeds) which his hands have sent
forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they should understand
this, and over their ears deafness. If
thou callest them to guidance even then will they never accept guidance!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 45 Surah
Jathiyah verses 7-10:
7 Woe to each sinful dealer in falsehoods:
8 He hears the Signs of Allah rehearsed to him yet is obstinate and
lofty as if he had not heard them: then announce to him a Penalty Most Grievous!
9 And when he learns something of Our Signs he takes them in jest: for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty.
10 In front of them is Hell: and of no profit to them is anything they
may have earned, nor any protectors they may have taken to themselves besides
Allah: for them is a Tremendous Penalty.
11 This is (True) Guidance: and for those who reject the Signs of their
Lord is a Grievous Penalty of abomination.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah
Kahf verses 103-106:
103 Say: "Shall we tell you of those who
lose most in respect of their deeds?
104 Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought
that they were acquiring good by their works?"
105 They are those who deny the Signs of their Lord and the fact of their
having to meet Him (in the Hereafter): vain will be their works nor shall We on
the Day of Judgment give them (their deeds) any weight.
106 That is their reward: Hell; because they rejected Faith and took My
Signs and My Messengers by way of jest.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 45 Surah
Jathiyah verses 31-35:
31 But as to those who reject Allah (to them will be said in the
Hereafter): "Were not Our Signs rehearsed to you? But ye were arrogant and
were a people given to sin!
32 And when it was said that the Promise of Allah was True and that the
Hour there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say `We know not what is
the Hour: we only think it is an idea and we have no firm assurance.'"
33 Then will appear to them the evil (fruits) of what they did and
they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!
34 It will also be said: "This Day We will forget you as ye forgot
the meeting of this Day of yours! And your abode is the Fire and no helpers
have ye!
35 This because ye used to take the Signs of Allah in jest and the life of the world deceived you." (From) the Day
therefore they shall not be taken out thence, nor shall they be received into
Grace.
Respected sister, if you
encounter a person who constantly jests or mocks the Truth of Islam, it would
only be prudent to avoid getting into an argument about Islam with such an
ignorant person.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah
Anaam verses 68-69:
68 When thou seest men
engaged in vain discourse about Our Signs turn away from them unless they turn
to a different theme. If the Shaytaan ever makes thee forget, then
after recollection sit not thou in the company of the ungodly.
69 On their account no responsibility falls on the righteous, (their
duty) is but to remind them that they may (learn to) fear Allah.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 25 Surah
Furqan verse 63:
63 And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the
earth in humility, and when the
ignorant address them they say "Peace!"
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah
Aaraaf verses 198-201:
198 If thou callest them to guidance they hear not. Thou wilt see them looking at thee but they
see not.
199 Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; but turn away from
the ignorant.
200 If a suggestion from the Shyaatan assail thy (mind), seek refuge
with Allah; for He Hears and Knows (all things).
201 Those who fear Allah when a thought of evil from the Shaytaan
assaults them bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright)!
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
