Answer:
Cover hair while
eating
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
There is absolutely nothing in the authentic and
established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) whereby either the
believing men or the believing women are commanded, ordered, guided, or even
encouraged to cover their hair while eating.
If the believing woman happens to be eating or consuming
her meal, and there are non-mehram males in her presence, indeed she would be
required to cover herself completely including her hair…..but if the believing
woman is consuming her meal with her mehram relatives, there is absolutely no
need or obligation upon her to cover her head.
To cover one’s head or hair while eating is neither a
requirement nor an obligation in Shariah for either the believing men or the
believing women; but if one wishes to cover their hair for any reason while
eating, there is absolutely no harm.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
