Dear sisters/brothers,

 

I have come across some men who go for "body massage " for different reasons ( to relax, to loosen muscles, for pampering to body if the wife couldnt perform it for them professional way , fitness for sports ,medical reasons and believe me all justifications for this type of physical happiness). I would just like to know if it is permissible for a muslim man to go for this body massage delivered by women (chinese ,thai,indian etc) at these specific  Body Massage centres where they could get a professional body  treatment? .    Thank you.

Answer:

 

Massage

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 24 Surah Noor verses 30-31:

30      Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and (scrupulously) guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.

31      And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and (scrupulously) guard their modesty…..

 

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3118        Narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab

The Prophet (saws) said, "Whenever a man is alone with a (non-mehram) woman, the Shaytaan makes the third."

 

Respected sister in Islam, such are the Commands and the Guidance of segregation of non-mehram members of the opposite sex in Islam, that it is categorically prohibited for the believers who sincerely fear Allah and the Last Day to as much as even touch a non-mehram member of the opposite sex…..leave alone the gravity of the abomination of getting a full body massage at the hands of a non-mehram woman!!!! 

 

It would be categorically and absolutely forbidden for a believer who sincerely fears Allah and the Last Day to expose his ‘satr’ or allow a non-mehram woman to touch him….leave alone allow her to give him a massage!!!

 

Inna lillahe wa inna ilayhe rajeoon……To Allah we belong and to Him is our return.

 

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
