Childless IVF treatment

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 42 Surah Shura verses 49-50:

49      To Allah belongs the Dominion of the heavens and the earth.  He creates what He Wills.  He bestows (children) male or female according to His Will.

50      Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He Wills: for He is Full of Knowledge and Power.

Respected sister in Islam, know with absolute and total conviction that your condition and your desires are not unknown to your Lord Most Gracious, for He is well aware of the exact condition of each in His creation.  Your condition is no more a trial and a test bestowed upon you from your Lord, thus be constant and consistent in your supplication to the Merciful Lord, and beseech Him and Him Alone in humility, in awe, and in hope for all that your heart desires; for there is none in the universe other than the One and Only Merciful Lord Who has the Power to hear and respond to the supplications of His believing slaves.

One of the best supplications to make to the Merciful Lord when one wishes for an offspring is the humble and wholesome supplication of the Prophet Zachariah (a.s.) when he was childless until an abject old age.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiya verses 89-90:

89      And (remember) Zakariya when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! Leave me not without offspring, though Thou art the Best of Inheritors.”

90      So We listened to him: and We granted him Yahya: We cured his wife's (barrenness) for him.  These three were ever quick in emulation in good works: they used to call on Us with love and reverence, and humble themselves before Us.

Respected sister in Islam, keep your faith constant in Allah Subhanah, the One and Only Creator and Bestower of the Worlds.  May Allah Subhanah make your trial easy for you, and may The Lord Most Merciful bestow patience and steadfastness on you to accept whatever He has Planned and Willed for you.  May Allah Subhanah fulfill your heart’s desire and bestow upon you righteous offspring, who become the contentment of your eyes in the life of this world, and a source of attaining Paradise in the life of the Hereafter.

Your Question: ….My question is  that is it advisable to go  to a doctor  for babies  that is modern methods like test tube etc is advisable

Respected sister, it is obvious that such modern medical technology like artificial insemination, test-tube procedure, or IVF treatments, etc. were not available at the time when the Quran was being revealed, thus the Quran and the Sunnah are obviously silent on the issue.  With the advancement of modern technology the scholars and jurists in Islam have strived to derive an opinion regarding its permissibility in light of the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah.

In the opinion of the majority of the scholars in Islam, there is no harm if when one has a low sperm or egg count or any other medical condition, and one wishes to use modern medicine and technology and means of artificial insemination to try to conceive a child, provided the sperm and the egg used to fertilize the ovum are from the same married couple.  The child derived from such artificial insemination will be recognized as the legal and lawful off-spring of the couple in the Sight of Shariah Law.

But the scholars in Islam have voiced their opinion and declared it absolutely impermissible for the couple to try to conceive a child, where the sperm or the egg used is from any one other than their very own (donor or surrogate father or mother, etc.)….such an act would be an absolute abomination in the Sight of the Lord.

And Allah Alone Knows Best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
