Take loan to send parents to hajj.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
My
question is regarding the hajj payment.
This
year I have two commitments 1. I have to send my parents for hajj and 2. Clear
the credit amount which I have taken.
I am
taking money from my friend to clear the credit payment, I will return the
amount to my friend by end of this year and I have to send money to book the
facilities for my parents for hajj. Can I send the money taken from my friend
to book the facilities for hajj or I have to send the money which I earn. Any
how I will return his amount by end of this year from my salary. Can I exchange
this money in case of urgency? Please advice at the earliest.

Answer:
Take loan to send
parents to hajj
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Respected brother, if you are confident that you will be
able to pay the loan you have taken from your friend at its agreed time from
your earnings…..there is absolutely no harm if you chose or wish to utilize the
money to send your parents to Hajj.
Fiqh-us-Sunnah Fiqh 5.15a
Abdullah ibn Abi 'Awfa relates: "I asked
the Prophet (saws) about a man who has not performed Hajj, 'Should he not get a
loan to perform Hajj?' The Prophet (saws) replied: 'No'”

What is specifically disliked and discouraged is that one
who cannot afford the Hajj journey takes on a loan with the sole intention of performing
the Hajj pilgrimage….but if one is blessed with enough from their Lord that
they can afford their Hajj journey, and one has perchance taken on a debt for
another reason….there is absolutely no harm if the person chooses to fulfill
their Hajj obligation unto their Lord.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
