Sahih Muslim Hadith 684 Narrated byAbu Musa
There cropped up a difference of opinion between a group of Muhajirs
(Emigrants) and a group of Ansar (Helpers) (and the point of dispute was) that
the Ansar said: 'The 'ghusl' (full bath) becomes obligatory only when the semen
spurts out or ejaculates.' But the Muhajirs said: 'When a man has sexual
intercourse (with the woman), a 'ghusl' (full bath) becomes obligatory (no
matter whether or not there is seminal emission or ejaculation).' AbuMusa said:
Well, I shall satisfy you on this (issue). He (AbuMusa, the narrator) said: 'I
stood up, (went) to Aisha and sought her permission which was granted. I said
to her: :O Mother of the Faithful, I want to ask you about a matter about which
I feel shy." She said: "Don`t feel shy of asking me about a thing
which you can ask your mother who gave birth to you, for I too am your
mother." Upon this I said: "What makes a 'ghusl' obligatory for a
person?" She replied: "You have come across one who is well informed!
The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "When the private parts (of the man
and the woman) touch each other. a 'ghusl' becomes obligatory."'
Two acts during the process of sexual intercourse makes 'ghuls' obligatory:
The release of 'semen' or full sexual discharge of the man or the woman.
Regardless of whether one enters the other or not, regardless of whether one
has a full sexual discharge or not, if the private organ of the man has merely
even touched the private organ of the woman….a 'ghusl' or full bath of
purification would be obligatory upon both the man and the woman before they
make themselves available for prayer.
If the private organs of the man and the woman have neither touched nor entered
into each other, nor was there a full sexual discharge by either the man or the
woman, then a 'ghusl' or full bath would not become obligatory before they make
themselves available for prayer.
I have a confusion on the above which I want to clarify.
If husband private organ touches or rubs his wife buttocks while sitting,
standing and hugging her from back & if the wife sits on his husband lap
touching her buttocks to husband private organ - then is it necassry to take
ghusl or full bath to purify??
Appreciate if you answer on the above.

Answer:
Touch buttocks ghusl
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Your
Question: ….I have a confusion on the above which I want to clarify. If husband
private organ touches or rubs his wife buttocks while sitting, standing and
hugging her from back & if the wife sits on his husband lap touching her
buttocks to husband private organ - then is it necassry to take ghusl or full

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 5 Surah
Maidah verse 6 (part):
…..If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity
bathe your whole body.
If the male private organ has not actually and physically
touched the ‘entrance’ of the female private organs, and neither the husband
nor the wife have experienced or reached sexual climax/orgasm, then the
absolute majority of the scholars and jurists in Islam are of the opinion that
the mere touching of the flesh of the wife’s buttocks, or the mere sitting of
the wife on her husband’s lap, would not enroll them to be in a state of
‘ceremonial or major impurity’. Thus it would not be obligatory upon them to
perform the ‘ghusl’ or full bath of purification before they make themselves
available for prayer. If they perform
the ‘wudu’ it would suffice for them to perform their prayers. And Allah Alone Knows Best.
But if perchance the male private organ of the husband
happens to physically so much so as ‘touch’ the ‘entrance’ of the female
private organ, or they reach the state of sexual climax/orgasm….then indeed
they would be in a state of ‘major or ceremonial’ impurity and a ‘ghusl’ would
become obligatory upon them.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
