Hajj on parents in law wealth.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
salaam
u alaikum
This
year my parents in law are planning to inshalah go for hajj. Due to their age,
they want my husband and me to join them as well. My parents in law
alhamdulilah have sufficient means to pay for all the hajj expenses.
However since for me and my husband the expense is tremendous, my parents in
law have offered to pay our expenses as well. My question is: is it
ok for us to go to hajj when my parents in law are paying for our expenses? We
have full intention to pay them back in small amounts every month in
future. I am a little concerned as to whether this hajj would be
valid for us or not. Bear in mind that alhamdulilah my husband has a good job
but right now it seems difficult to set aside such a huge sum for hajj (we just
recently got married, still have to buy a house and a car and are expecting our
first baby soon inshallah) Inshallah if we do go for hajj, we will inshallah be
paying back our parents in law in future. Please remember that my parents in
law are really insisting on going for hajj this year and due to their age and
health, they think it would be best for them to go right away. My husband is
their only son so they need him with them and since I need to go to hajj with a
mahram I thought this would be a good and perhaps the only opportunity for me
to go for hajj. We have all not performed a single hajj up until now. Please
guide us ...
Thank
you

Answer:
Hajj on parents in
law wealth
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
My
question is: is it ok for us to go to hajj when my parents in law are paying
for our expenses?
If one performs all the obligatory rites of Hajj,
regardless of who has chosen to pay for their Hajj……that Hajj of theirs would
be acceptable to Allah Subhanah and suffice to fulfill their obligation of Hajj
unto their Lord.
If one’s parents or parents-in-law have offered to pay for
their son’s and his wife’s Hajj, there is absolutely no harm, and if Allah
Subhanah Wills and Pleases, their Hajj would be acceptable to their Lord.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
