Answer:

Surah fateha and durood in dua

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 186:

And if  My servants ask you,  O Prophet, concerning Me,  tell them that I am quite near to them.   I hear and answer the prayer of the suppliant,  when he calls on Me.  So let them respond to My call and believe in Me.  (Convey this to them),  perhaps they may be guided aright!

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2257        Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri

The Prophet (saws) said, "Any Muslim who makes a supplication containing nothing which is sinful, or which involves breaking ties of relationship,  will be given for it by Allah one of three things: He will give him swift answer, or store it up for him in the next world, or turn away from him an equivalent amount of evil."  Those who heard it said they would then make many supplications and he (saws) replied that Allah was more ready to answer than they were to ask.

Nu'man b. Bashir reported that the Prophet (saws), said, "Verily supplication is worship."

Narrated by Ahmad and Sunan.

Abu Hurairah reported, "The Prophet (saws) said, "Nothing is more dear to Allah than one's supplication to Him.''

Narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah.

Your Question: I want to Clear one doubt that is. Is it Correct to Recite Surah Fateha and Darud in Dua.

Although there is absolutely no condition or obligation on the believers that they ‘have to’ recite the Surah Al-Fatihah or the ‘durood’ on the Noble Prophet (saws) before, during or after their supplications….but if one wishes to do so in their individual supplications, there is absolutely no harm.

The Sunnah or correct way or method when one wishes to make supplications unto their Lord Most Gracious is:

  1. First and foremost, Praise and Extol Allah Subhanah.
  2. Then recite the ‘durood’ and thus make supplication for the Prophet (saws) by beseeching Allah Subhanah to send His Blessings and Peace on the Prophet (saws).
  3. In all humility and awe, in fear and in hope, beseech and implore one’s Lord for whatever lawful one’s heart desires.

Your Statement: ….Because After Namaz the Imam Saab normally recite this.

There is indeed evidence in the Sunnah for the believers to make individual supplications after their prayers, but there is absolutely no evidence in the authentic and established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) whereby he as the ‘imam’ would ever make a collective or congregational supplications after the fard prayers, or any other prayers for that matter!

It would be best for the ‘imaams’ who lead the prayers and the believers at large to abstain from doing something in the deen which was neither practiced nor endorsed by the Messenger of Allah (saws).

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
