Copy of Maududi translation
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's
Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Salaam Alaikum Burhan Bhai,
Hope you and your activities are going on fine. Missing
your mail
Burhan Bhai, while going through your answer to question no.
210, I learnt that it is possible for you to send the English translations
of the Holy Quran by e-mail. Earlier I had downloaded the translations of
Pickthall, Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Shakir.
Maulana Maududi is one Alim whom I hold in high esteem.
Now, according to you his translation is available and can be emailed. Can you,
therefore, please check whether it can be sent as a zipped file. If so please
send it if it is not incovenient to you. Further, there are three translations
that can be downloaded from your site, why not Dr Taqiuddin Al Hilali's? His
translation at first looks rather difficult with so many brackets that you lose
the rythm. But if you see its accuracy, it is perhaps the most accurate and he
seems to have taken pains and captured the meanings very admirably ( this
certainly does not mean that other translators did not take pains!). Perhaps he
is Arabic-speaking, therefore it was rather easy for him to be accurate.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Please remember me in your
prayers.
Kind regards
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above
statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and
statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Indeed,
Brother Syed Abul Aala Maududi is one of the great scholars of this
century and a teacher and brother who is loved by many brothers for his
tireless and selfless service to the deen and the Cause of Allah Subhanah. May Allah Subhanah have mercy on his
soul, shower his grave with noor and
light, accept his deeds, and honor him with the best and everlasting
rewards in the life Hereafter. Ameen.
The
Truth is brother, the first translation
of the Glorious Quran that I read with understanding was the one written by
Brother Syed Abul Aala Maududi;
whereby Allah Subhanah blessed me to accept Islam. Thus Brother Maududi is an Aalim who is
always close to my heart and my prayers,
and I have read most of his books which have been translated into the
English Language. His simplicity in
language, his reasoning of
subjects, his humility in
understanding, his sincerity for the
Cause, and his abject desire to unite
the muslims are an example for modern Islamic scholars. May Allah Subhanah have mercy on his
soul, and reward him with the best of
Al-Jannat Al-Firdaus.
Brother
Maududi’s translation of the Glorious Quran in the English Language is
available in two forms:
A six
volume translation with extensive notes and references.
A one
volume translation with brief texts and notes.
Beloved brother, I am not sure whether we can send you a ‘zipped’ file of the whole translation volumes; but if you could give us your mailing address, it would be an honor and a pleasure for us to forward the Quran translation by Brother Maududi to you. Brother Maududi’s original Urdu translation of the Quran has been further translated in almost all the major languages, and if you need his translation in any other language, I believe we have copies of most of them. All we ever ask of you is to remember us as your humble brothers and sisters in Islam when you invoke the Merciful Lord, pray that He accept our humble efforts with all its short-comings, forgive us our sins, and save us all from the torment of the Hell Fire.
Your Statement: Further, there are three translations that

Dr. Taqiuddin Al Hilali has indeed done a
commendable work in his translation of the Holy Quran. We shall try our best to include Dr.
Hilali’s translation on our web-site in the near future, Insha Allah. We have a small pocket-size version of Dr. Hilali’s
translation, which is very very handy
while traveling and if we have your approval,
we could include this translation too with Brother Maududis books we
intend mailing to you upon receipt of your mailing address.
May Allah Subhanah increase your and our quest for
the knowledge of Truth, have mercy on
us, help us, guide us, forgive us our
short-comings, and we sincerely and
humbly beg our Merciful Lord not to give us death except as true and practicing
believers in Al-Islam.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
