One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
In a
city at the time of EID prayers while DUA mufti of EID GAH has said a statement
"O God! safeguard mosques,temples & churches"
It is
fare to say like this in DUA?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling
errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from

Answer:
Dua to safeguard
temples and churches
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Because Allah Subhanah has placed man in a test for a
period of this one short transitory life, to protect the sanctity of this test,
Islam guides that every individual has a right that he/she be allowed to
worship whomsoever they wish or choose to worship. Even in a state of war, Islam absolutely and
categorically prohibits the believers from ever destroying a place of worship,
regardless of whether that ‘place of worship’ is dedicated to Allah Subhanah
Alone, or any of the other deities the disbelievers have chosen to worship
instead of Allah Subhanah! Such is the
sanctity of any ‘place of worship’ provided by the guidance of Islam.

Neither would it be right for one who sincerely believes
in Allah and the Last Day to make a supplication unto their Lord to destroy the
‘places of worship’ of the disbelievers….nor would it be right for the
believers to supplicate Allah Subhanah to preserve or safeguard the ‘places of
worship’ of the disbelievers!
The best supplication a believer who sincerely believes in
Allah and the Last Day can and should make for their disbelieving brethren is
that Allah Subhanah have mercy on them, open their hearts, and guide them to
the Truth of Al-Islam.
If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and
commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws),
one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any
other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be
assured of being led astray.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
