One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

i want to know all the names of the grandsons & granddaughters of our prophet(pbuh). Only Hasan n Hussain r known. Wht abt the children of Umm-e-kulsum, Zainab N Ruqaiyya(ra)?

Answer:

 

Names of grandchildren of prophet(saws)

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

Allah Subhanah blessed and bestowed the Messenger of Allah (saws) with a total of seven children: four dauthers and three sons.  Six of these seven children were from his first marriage to Hadrat Khadijah (r.a.),  and one from Hadrat Maria Kibtiya (r.a.).

 

From Hadrat Khadijah (r.a.):

1. Zainab binte Mohamed
2. Ruqayya binte Mohamed
3. Umm-Kulthoom binte Mohamed
4. Fatema binte Mohamed
5. Qasim ibn Mohamed (died in infancy)
6. Abdullah ibn Mohamed (died in infancy)

 

And from Hadrat Maria (r.a.):

7.  Ibrahim ibn Mohamed (died in infancy)

 

All the Prophet’s (saws) children except Hadrat Fatema (r.a.), died during his (saw’s) lifetime.

Hadrat Zainab (r.a.) was married to Abul Aas ibn Rabi, her cousin and the maternal nephew of her mother, Khadijah (r.a.).

The children resulting from this marriage were:

1. Boy named Ali who died in infancy.
2. Girl named Umamah, who was later married to Hadrat Ali ibn Abi Taalib (r.a.) after the death of his first wife, Hadrat Fatimah (r.a.)

 

Ref: Hadrat Ruqayyah binte Mohamed (saws)

Hadrat Ruqayyah (r.a.) was married to Hadrat Uthmaan ibn Affan (r.a.), and the children resulting from this marriage were:

1. A body named Abdullah who died in infancy.

 

Ref: Hadrat Umm-Khulthoom binte Mohamed (saws)

After the death of her sister, Hadrat Ruqayyah (r.a.), Hadrat Umm-Khulthoom was married to Hadrat Uthmaan (r.a.)….there were no children from this marriage.

 

Ref: Hadrat Fatimah binte Mohamed (saws)

Hadrart Fatimah (r.a.) was married to Hadrat Ali ibn Abi Taalib (r.a.), the cousin of the Prophet (saws).

The children resulting from this marriage were:

1. Hadrat Hasan ibn Ali (r.a.)
2. Hadrat Hussain ibn Ali (r.a.)
3. Hadrat Umm-Kulthoom (r.a.) who subsequently married Hadrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (r.a.).
4. Hadrat Zainab (r.a.) who subsequently married Abdullah ibn Jaafar ibn Abi Taalib (r.a.)
