Sacrifice hajj and at home.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalaamualaikum,
I wanna know if one is performing Hajj he will give the obligatory sacrifice of the animal the next day of Hajj. Is it necessary for him to give the sacrifice of the animal in his home town too so as to fulfill the sunnah like what he do every year? Or the sacrifice which he is doing in Hajj will be enough. I request u to give the reply soon as my parents are performing hajj this year and we have only 5 days remaining for Eid ul Adah.

Answer:

Sacrifice hajj and at home

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Offering a sacrifice is an obligatory rite only for those believers who are on the Hajj pilgrimage; and if one who is performing the Hajj has offered the sacrifice at ‘Muna’ during the days of Hajj, there is absolutely no obligation or requirement for that person to offer a sacrifice again in his home town.

But if the believer who is performing the Hajj fulfills his obligatory ritual of offering a sacrifice at ‘Muna’ during the days of Hajj wishes to offer an additional sacrifice at his home town, he is well within his rights to do so.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
