One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
married
woman. I was raised muslim from childhood. My mother is a widow of
12 years who is very ill. She vomits violently when Quran is recited over her
i.e. those of Juz Amma and Ayatul Kursi. What can you recommend to do for her
under these circumstances? My sister believes the vomiting has to do with
purification. What else do you recommend. My mother (65 years old) is currently
in the hospital receiving medical care with family members at her bedside.

Answer:
Vomiting at
recitation of quran
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.

Respected Sister in Islam, we absolutely assure you that
the alteration in the medical condition of your mother is absolutely unrelated
to the recitation of the Glorious Quran!
Allah Subhanah has revealed the Glorious Quran as a mercy and guidance
for all mankind and we absolutely assure you that the hearing of its recitation
does not induce vomit from the believers or the disbelieves alike, and
absolutely regardless of whether one who hears it is spiritually or physically
pure or impure!
The alteration in the medical condition of your mother at
the recitation of the Verses of the Glorious Quran can be nothing more than a
mere co-incidence.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
