Answer:
Cutting nails in ehram
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Indeed the intentional clipping of nails or the cutting of
hair is forbidden when in the state of ehraam for pilgrimage; but if your
friend did it out of forgetfulness and stopped as soon as he remembered it, the
opinion of the majority of the scholars and jurists in Islam is that there is
no ‘dumm’ or penalty….it is expected that he will find his Lord Forgiving and
Merciful.
Amongst the four major schools of thought, only Imam Malik
of the Maliki school of thought is of the opinion that in the state of ‘ehraam’
for pilgrimage, regardless of whether one clips their nails intentionally or
intentionally, one should give a ‘dumm’ or sacrifice as penalty.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
