Read translation of quran in prayer.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Dear
Brother,
I read the email which stated 'there is absolutely no harm if one holds and
recites from the Quran , regardless whether one is offering ones prayer alone
or while in congregation'
'Holding a copy of the Quran and reciting or reading from it during the
obligatory prayers would not be permissible. But there is absolutely no harm if
one recites or follows the recitation of the 'imam' by holding a copy of the
Quran in any voluntary prayer (Sunnah , Nawaafil, Tarawih, etc.). And Allah
Alone Knows Best'
However, unfortunately, I am unable to read arabic therefore
during Taraweeh prayer can I hold the Quran behind the imam and to engage
myself fully, can I read the translation while the Quran is being recited.
I will be grateful if you could answer my question.

Answer:
Read translation of
quran in prayer
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.

Dhakwan, the protege of 'Aishah, would lead
her in (voluntary) prayer during Ramadan while reciting from a copy of the
Qur'an.

The absolute majority of the scholars and jurists in Islam
are of the opinion that it is permissible for one to hold a copy of the
Glorious Quran during one’s supererogatory prayers, regardless of whether one
merely watches the Arabic script the ‘Imam’ leading the prayers is reciting, or
one chooses to read the translation of what is being recited in a language they
understand best. And Allah Alone Knows
Best.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
