Answer:
Chose between father
and husband
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Dear and beloved Sister in Islam, under the conditions you
have described, it is neither lawful for your father to demand that you divorce
your husband….nor is it lawful for your husband to demand that you choose
between your father and your marriage; thus there would be absolutely no sin
upon you, and it would only be piety and righteousness on your part in the
Sight of Allah Subahanh that you preserve your marriage, live with your husband,
and strive your absolute utmost, with extreme patience and wisdom, to not only
maintain extremely good relations with your father but serve him to the best of
your ability until death separates the two of you.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3696 Narrated by An-Nawwas ibn Sam'an
Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "A
creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the
Creator."
In your particular case, if you disobey your father and
save your marriage; and you disobey your husband and strive your utmost to
maintain your relationship with and serve your father…..you will be absolute
blameless in the Court of your Lord All-Knowing for not obeying the unlawful
command of your father or your husband…..for it is not lawful for a believer to
obey any in creation (including one’s own father or husband) if it involves
disobedience to the Laws of The Creator.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the
Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
