Answer:
Doing good and doing
evil
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah
Anaam verse 160:
160 He that doeth good shall have ten times as much to his credit: he
that doeth evil shall only be recompensed according to his evil. No wrong shall be done unto (any of) them.
In the merciful but just Scales of Justice of the Lord
Most Gracious, any that does a good deed for the Sake of Allah Subhanah, and
that deed is acceptable to Allah…the Lord Most Gracious shall credit the
person’s account with ten times its due; and any that does a deed which is in
transgression of the boundaries of Allah Subhanah and does not seek repentance
for their transgression, they shall be recompensed according to their evil.
Thus if there is one who strictly guards and observes their
duty of the five obligatory prayers only for the sake of Allah Subhanah; they
shall earn their due reward for their good deed…..and if the same person
commits an evil by earning his livelihood from unlawful means, he shall indeed
have to account for his sin in the Presence of his Lord Most Majestic.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 11 Surah
Hud verses 114-115:
114 And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the
approaches of the night: for those things that are good remove those that
are evil: be that the word of remembrance to those who remember (their
Lord):
115 And be steadfast in patience; for verily Allah will not suffer the
reward of the righteous to perish.
As much as the doing of good deeds wipe out one’s evil
deeds, the Messenger of Allah (saws) declared in an authentic narration that
the evil deeds eat into one’s good deeds in their book of records just as fire
burns fire-wood! Thus one who strives to
do good for the Sake of Allah should also beware and strive one’s utmost to
abstain from transgressing the prescribed boundaries of the Lord Most Majestic,
lest his evil deeds eat into and invalidate his good deeds and he finds himself
absolutely bankrupt in the Hereafter!
Sahih Muslim
Hadith 6251 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah
Allah's
Messenger (saws) said: ‘Do you know who is a ‘muflis’ (abjectly poor or one who
is totally bankrupt)?’ They (the Companions (r.a.) of the Prophet (saws)) said:
‘A ‘muflis’ amongst us is one who has neither dirham with him nor wealth.’ He
(the Prophet (saws)) said: ‘The ‘muflis’ of my Ummah would be he who would come
on the Day of Resurrection with prayers and fasts and Zakah but (he would find
himself bankrupt on that day as he would have exhausted his funds of virtues)
since he hurled abuses upon others, brought calumny against others, unlawfully
consumed the wealth of others, shed the blood of others, and beat others. His
virtues would be credited to the account of one (who suffered at his hand). And
if his good deeds fall short to clear the account (of his mis-deeds), then
their sins would be entered in (his account) and he would be thrown in the
Hell-Fire!’
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
