Vastu shastra feng shui design.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

assalaamualaikum dear friend
Im very much enchanted to see such a site which is quite fruitfull to people like us! May Allah bless you with the best of his tidings for all your generous effort. Coming to my question...it is about the concept of vaastu shastra. Since Alhamdu lillah by the grace of god we are building a new house, we did integrate certain aspects of vastushastra in it...like placing d kitchen acc. to direction of wind..the ventilation, etc...Most of the aspect n design of the house was approached through vastushastra. We even did a quick browsing of vastushastra to check out any element of diversion from our faith...but we came out with none...what ever aspect of vaastu shastra we used was completely based on practicality...just what Islam preaches the most "practicality" a concept void in all the other relegion!!we did completely avoid any elements that Allah disliked...As being an ardent follower of faith in Allah n Allah alone, I would like to know whether a concept we used is in any accordance against Islam...since what ever research we did do have its own limitation!

PLZ i do need a quick response from your side!!

Vastu shastra feng shui design

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

May Allah Subhanah reward you with the best of this world and the Hereafter for your kind comments of encouragement for our humble efforts in the propagation of the Truth.  If our humble and modest efforts have helped even one brother or sister get closer to Allah and His Deen of Truth, then we would consider ourselves indeed fortunate to have been given this opportunity by the Lord Most Merciful to serve in His Cause.  We hope, beg, and pray the Merciful Lord accepts our humble and weak efforts, forgives us our shortcomings, and saves you, us, and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire.  Ameen.

Ref: What is Vaastu Shastra?

The literal meaning of ‘Vaastu’ would be a physical environment, and ‘Shastra’ means knowledge.  ‘Vastu Shastra’ is one of the traditional Hindu canons of town planning and architecture and are supposedly codified in their religious texts and scriptures.  ‘Vaastu Shastra’ deals with various aspects of designing and building living environments that are in harmony with the physical and metaphysical forces/ energies of the cosmos such as the gravitational, electromagnetic and supernatural. Building practices based on limited interpretations of these principles are still sustained by the believers of the Hindu religion.

‘Vaastu’ is the coded knowledge of direction that combines all the five elements of nature and balances them with the man and the material. ‘Vaastu Shastra’ is creating a congenial settings or a place to live or work taking advantages of the supposed benefits bestowed by the five elements (Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space) called “Paanchbhootas” of the nature thereby paving the way for enhanced health, wealth, prosperity and happiness in an enlightened environment.

The ‘Vaastu Purusha Mandala’ is an indispensable part of ‘Vaastu Shastra’ and constitutes the mathematical and diagrammatic basis for generating direction and design.  The principal Hindu gods/presiding deities of each direction (called the ‘ashtadikpalar’) are:

Northeast- Eeshanya- Ruled by the Lord of all quarters or Eeshwara

Siva (Religions,Luck and Faith)

East- Aditya- Ruled by Sun God - Aditya (Seeing the world)

Southeast- Agni- Ruled by Lord of Fire - Agni (Energy Generating)

South- Yama- Ruled by Lord of Death - Yama (Damaging)

Southwest- Pitru- Ruled by ancestors (History)

West- Varuna- Ruled by Lord of water (Physical)

Northwest- Vayu- ruled by Lord Of Winds (Advertisement)

North- Kubera- Ruled by Lord of Wealth (Finance)

Centre- Brahma- Ruled by Lord/Creator of the Universe (Desire)

Your Question: As being an ardent follower of faith in Allah n Allah alone, I would like to know whether a concept we used is in any accordance against Islam...s

As is absolutely evident from the description of the supposed ‘knowledge’ of ‘Vastu-Shashtra’ quoted above that it is nothing more than a code supposedly derived from the pagan religious text and embedded with the ‘powers’ of their various mythological and supernatural dieites and gods!

Dear and beloved brother in Islam, to accept, follow, believe or utilize even an iota of such pagan embedded knowledge that anything in the ‘unseen’ (other than the One and Only True Lord Who Created) can bring about any benefit or protect one from any harm would be, without an iota of a doubt, an act of manifest disbelief and the abomination of the most heinious and unforgiveable crime of ‘shirk’ in the Sight of Allah Subhanah!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 65-66:

If you commit ‘shirk’ all your works will be rendered vain and you will be among the losers.  Therefore, you should worship Allah Alone,  and be among His grateful servants.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 72:

Whoever commits ‘shirk’ (invoking anything with Allah),  Allah shall forbid for him Paradise,  and Hell shall be his abode.  And for such wrong doers there will be no one to help.

Allah says in the Quran: Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa Verse 48
Shirk (associating other deities with Allah) is the only sin that Allah does not forgive, and He forgives, whomsoever He pleases, sins other than this.  For whosoever associates any other partner with Allah, does indeed forge a big lie and commits the most heinous sin

The concepts of  the Hindu ‘Vaastu-Shastra’ or the Chinese ‘Feng-Shui’, etc. are no more than a figment of someone’s imagination, and have absolutely no basis to the reality of truth….nor do or can the practice of such imaginations and conjecture benefit or protect one in the least!

There is only One Creator of everything that exists in creation, and He Alone is and Suffices as a Protector, Cherisher, Sustainer, and The Absolute Lord, Ruler, Master, and Controller of absolutely everything that happens in the universe!   Allah is our witness brother, no ‘Vastu’, no ‘Feng-Shui’, no nothing can bring even an iota of benefit to anyone if Allah Subhanah Wills otherwise, nor can such absolute conjecture protect one from any harm if the Lord Most Majestic Most Supreme Decrees otherwise!!!!!  Allah Subhanah, the Lord of the Worlds Suffices as a Disposer of absolutely all affairs of the believers.

Allah Says in His Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 2:

2        What Allah out of His Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold there is none can grant apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power Full of Wisdom.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 160:

If Allah helps you none can overcome you: if He forsakes you who is there after that that can help you?  In Allah then let believers put their trust.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 51:

Say: "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us:  He is our Protector";  and on Allah let the believers put their trust.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 17:

17      If Allah touch thee with affliction none can remove it but He; if He touch thee with happiness He hath power over all things.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 3:

And put your trust in Allah Alone; and enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws),   one can be assured of never ever being misled;   but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
