Answer:
Umrah pilgrimage for
another
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Your
Question: CAN WE PEROFRM UMRAH ON BEHALF OF DEAD
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 9.418 Narrated by Ibn Abbas
A woman came to the
Prophet (saws) and said, "My mother vowed to perform the Hajj but she died
before performing it. Should I perform the Hajj on her behalf?" He (saws)
said, "Yes! Perform the Hajj on her behalf. See, if your mother had been in debt, would
you have paid her debt?" She said,
"Yes." He (saws) said, "So you should pay what is for Him, as
Allah has more right that one should fulfill one's obligations to Him."
The believers are allowed in Shariah to perform the Hajj
or the Umra pilgrimage for their loved ones who are deceased, or for their
loved ones who due to a genuine reason like physical disability, etc. are
unable to perform the journey to the Sacred House. If Allah Wills and Pleases to accept their
efforts, the Lord Most Gracious will reward the one who fulfills the rites as
well as the one for whom it was intended.
Your
Question: IF SO WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE
The procedure for performing an Umrah or Hajj pilgrimage
for another is exactly the same as if one would perform for oneself, the only
difference being that before one gets in the state of ‘ehraam’ for pilgrimage,
one makes the intention that their this pilgrimage is intended for ‘such and
such’ a person.
Your Question: ALSO
TELL ME IF WE CAN MAKE UMRAH FOR 2 OR 3 DEAD AT THE SAME TIME
There is no allowance
in Shariah that one may perform the Umrah pilgrimage for more than one person
at one time; the Umrah or Hajj pilgrimage is best performed for one person at a
time, either for oneself or for another person.
And Allah Alone Knows Best.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
