Assalam Allikum,

I have to read Ayyat Kareema it 115,000 times.I have some questions about it. Can i read it while working or walking around? And is it neccessary to the wazoo? During this if company management comes in & talk to me can i resume after finish the talk?

Recite for a number of times

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

Your Question: I have to read Ayyat Kareema it 115,000 times.

Although one is encouraged to recite the ‘Aayat Kareema’ as often and as much as one wills or is convenient for them, it would not be appropriate nor in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) to recite anything for a particular number of times when Allah and His Messenger (saws) have not endorsed its specific number, place, or time of recitation! 

 

If one believes or assumes from themselves that the recitation of any particular Verse or Phrase is more meritorious or earns more rewards from Allah Subhanah if recited for an ‘x’ number of times, or at a particular time, or at a particular place…..when such specifics have not been endorsed by Allah and His Messenger (saws), then without an iota of a doubt, such an assumption, belief, and practice would be manifestation of ‘bida’ or innovation in the Sight of Allah Subhanah.

 

One may recite any Verse or Phrase or even the ‘Aayat Kareema’ as often and as much as one wills….but it would be akin to piety and obedience to abstain from limiting or specifying the number of its recitation, especially when Allah and His Messenger (saws) have not specified its number!

 

Your Question: Can i read it while working or walking around?

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale-Imraan verse 191:

191    Men who celebrate the Praises of Allah standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides; and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth….

 

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 35:

35      For Muslim men and women, for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in charity, for men and women who fast, for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah's Praise…. for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward.

 

Said Aishah, "The Messenger of Allah (saws) used to remember Allah at all times."

Related by Bukhari and Muslim.

 

 

Ali bin Abi Talha relates that Ibn Abbas (r.a.) said, "All obligations imposed upon man by Allah are clearly marked and one is exempted from them in the presence of a genuine cause. The only exception is the obligation of ‘dhikr’ (Remembrance). Allah has set no specific limits for it, and under no circumstances is one allowed to be negligent of it. We are commanded to 'remember Allah standing, sitting and reclining on your sides,' in the morning, during the day, at sea or on land, on journey or at home, in poverty and in prosperity, in sickness or in health, openly and secretly, and, in fact, at all times throughout one's life and in all circumstances."

 

Dear and beloved Sister in Islam, one is absolutely encouraged to remember and declare the Praise and Glorifications of their Lord whenever and wherever one happens to be; standing, sitting, lying down on one’s sides, or while working or walking about, etc.; but one should abstain from reciting the Glorious Quran when one is in the state of ‘janaba’ or post-sex impurity.

 

Reported Ali ibn Abi Taalib (r.a.) that "Nothing would stop the Prophet (saws) from reciting the Qur'an except post-sex impurity."

Your Question: And is it neccessary to the wazoo?

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 3751  Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas

The Messenger of Allah (saws) came out from the privy and water was presented to him. They (the people) asked: ‘Should we bring you water for ablution?’  He (saws) replied: ‘I have been commanded to perform ablution (only) when I get up for prayer.’

 

Sahih Muslim Hadith 725      Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas

The Messenger of Allah (saws) came out of the privy, and he was presented with some food, and the people reminded him about ablution, but he (saws) said: ‘Am I to say prayer that I should perform ablution?’

 

The only acts where ‘wudu’ is a pre-condition for its acceptance are:

  1. prayer
  2. performing the ‘tawaaf’ of the Kaaba

 

One is not required or obligated to be in the state of ‘wudu’ when remembering Allah Subhanah or reciting Quran from one’s memory.

Interruptions of worldly affairs, or work, or chores do not violate the rewards or acceptance of the recitation of one’s praises or glorifications of Allah Subhanah in the least.

 

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
