One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

My wife is pregnant and the doctor has forbidden sexual intercourse for the whole pregnancy period.While playing with her, I rub my penis vigorously against her body and often discharge semen.This is usually done at night or early in the morning ,and also during her menses.Is this a sin?How can I avoid it?

Answer:

 

Forbidden sex during Mensuration

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His  forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,  no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

If the wife is in her period of menses,  or the period after child-birth,  there is absolutely no harm and no sin if the husband and wife enjoy each other’s physical company,  playing,  touching,  fondling, etc.,  and thus discharge the semen.   The guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws) on this subject is that the woman in menses must cover her lower private parts,  and the husband and wife may enjoy everything except actual intercourse. 

 

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, "Do everything (during the woman’s menstruation) except intercourse." (Related by Muslim,  Tirmidhi,  Abu Dawood)
