One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
One
night, i had a dream about my father. He was sitting infront of me and said to
me "can you hear that?" I replied "no". He said to me allah
is talking to me. Ever since i had this dream i have wondered whether it meant
anything. Did research `dreams` within islam, but unable to find the answer to
my question? Did this dream mean anything?

Answer:
Good dreams
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 9.144 Narrated by Abu
Huraira
Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "When the Day of Resurrection approaches, the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to come true, and a dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of Prophetism, and whatever belongs to Prothetism can never be false." Muhammad bin Sirin said, 'There are three types of dreams:
So, if someone has
a dream which he dislikes, he should not tell it to others, but get up and
offer a prayer.' "
Dear and beloved sister in Islam, if one has been blessed
and honored by their Lord to witness a good dream, then without an iota of a
doubt, that dream is one of glad tidings from Allah Subhanah.
A believer who is blessed to witness a dream of glad
tidings from Allah Subhanah should recognize the tremendous honor their Lord
has blessed them with, be extremely gratefully to their Lord for the honor He
has bestowed upon them, and strive their utmost to do more good righteous deeds
that would justify the honor that their Lord Most Gracious has bestowed them
with.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
