i had a miscarriage recently andeven after 1month i still notice some blood fibres coming out during urination and intercourse. i dont know if this is right? can i offer namaz ?have intercourse?what can be the possible reason for miscarriage and will it have problems in having children in future?plz answer me indicvidually and in detail in the light of quran and hadees.

Miscarriage prolonged blood flow

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Topic: Women with Prolonged Flows of Blood

Shariah defines such an occurrence as the flowing of blood outside of the regular time. This usually happens in two specific cases. In the first case, the woman knows that her flow of menstrual blood is lasting longer than usual. In such a case, she will act according to her customary period, and the remainder will be considered days of prolonged blood flows. This is based on the hadith of Umm Salamah, in which she asked the Messenger of Allah (saws) about this condition. He (saws) said, "She should wait for the days and nights of her normal period and figure them out of the month, and she should leave the prayer during those days. (Afterwards) she should perform ghusl, tighten something around her vagina and then pray." (Related by Bukhari and Muslim)

Al-Khattabi holds, "That regulation is for the woman who is experiencing prolonged blood flows. If the blood is flowing, the Prophet (saws) ordered her to leave the prayer during her regular period, and to perform ghusl after her customary time has passed. Then, she becomes just like any other purified person."

 

In the second case, a woman has a regular period, but she is able to distinguish the blood. She should, therefore, behave according to the type of blood she sees. Fatimah bint Abu Hubaish had a prolonged flow of blood, and the Prophet (saws) told her, "If it is menstrual blood, it is dark and recognizable. If you have that, abstain from the prayer. If it is other than that, make ablution and pray, for it is a vein."

Dear and beloved sister in Islam, if the discharge is dark and recognizable as menstruation or post-miscarriage blood, then it must be treated as a state of menstruation impurity and all the restrictions that are applied in Shariah during menstruation like abstention from prayer, abstention from fasts, abstention from sexual intercourse, etc. must be honored.

 

But if the unfortunate miscarriage has occurred a month ago and still there are some blood fibers being discharged, then more than likely it is a case of prolonged blood flow, and thus not a state of ceremonial impurity.  If that is the case, perform the ghusl at the end of your normal menstruation period, tighten a pad or cloth around your private parts, and make yourself available for prayer.  All the restrictions which are placed during the period of menstruation would now be lifted, and you pray, fast, or enjoy conjugal relations as normal.

 

Your Question: what can be the possible reason for miscarriage and will it have problems in having children in future?

Beloved Sister, there might be any number of voluntary or involuntary conditions for one to have or experience a miscarriage, and it is best to consult a medical expert for the exact reason for each individual; and it is the medical experts who could best determine whether or not one has a physical or medical condition which might adversely effect the having of children in the future.

 

If one has experienced an involuntary or natural miscarriage, then one must know and believe with absolute conviction that it occurred with the Precise Decree of their Lord Most High, and one must accept their miscarriage as a trial from their Lord.

 

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 42 Surah Ash-Shura verses 49-50:

49      To Allah belongs the Dominion of the heavens and the earth.  He creates what He wills (and plans).  He bestows (children) male or female, according to His Will (and Plan).

50      Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He Wills: for He is Full of Knowledge and Power.

 

May the Lord Most Merciful make your trial easy for you, and from His Mercy and Grace bestow upon you off-spring who will grow up to be righteous slaves of their Lord Creator, and a source of joy and happiness for their parents.
