Answer:
Keeping picture in house
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 4.447 Narrated by Aisha
I stuffed for the
Prophet (saws) a pillow decorated with pictures (of animals) which looked like
a Namruqa (i.e. a small cushion). He
(saws) came and stood among the people with excitement apparent on his
face. I said, "O Messenger of
Allah (saws)! What is wrong?" He (saws) said, "What is this
pillow?" I said, "I have
prepared this pillow for you, so that you may recline on it." He (saws) said, "Don't you know that
Angels do not enter a house wherein there are pictures; and whoever makes a picture will be punished
on the Day of Resurrection, and will be asked to give life to (what he has
created)?"
In light of the above guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws), almost all the scholars of Islam are unanimous in their opinion that it is not permissible to display pictures or portraits of animate objects in one’s houses.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in
Islam,
Burhan
