One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

 I am very confused about a decision in my life. I am married and haev to teen kids, I am in love with another man from past 5 yrs, we are in 2 different countries.

 

I want to marry him as I am not attached to my husband.He is a nice man, but for some reason we dont click at all, I am not satisfied sexually and we hardly talk to each other like normal couples. I am married for 16 yrs, never been closed to him.

Please let me know if its right to divorce my husband and marry this guy!!!

Wide take divorce to marry another

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

It is not permissible for a believer, who sincerely fears Allah and the Last Day, that once they have committed themselves in the sacred institution of marriage, to form an illicit relationship with another person out of marriage. 

 

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verse 34:

34      Men are the protectors and maintainers of women because Allah has given the one more than the other, and because they support them from their means.  Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard (their honor, their chastity, the property and possessions of the husband, etc.).

 

If a woman does not get along with her husband in marriage, she is well within her rights in Islam to initiate and seek a divorce from her husband.  But to form an illicit relationship with another man, and seek a divorce from her husband to marry this person is not only unrighteous and immoral, but also a grave sin in the Sight of Allah Subhanah.

 

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
