My question is what if one has a desire to have oral sex (i.e, sucking/licking private parts or organs) with his wife and the wife wants it too or the vice-versa?

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Dear Brother,

Assalam Ali Kum,

Firstly, thanks for the wonderful site which helps us to know many related matter which are not exposed to many of us. May Allah reward you for this (Ameen) and guide us to the right path.

My question is what if one has a desire to have oral sex (i.e, sucking/licking private parts or organs) with his wife and the wife wants it too or the vice-versa? and if we had done oral sex what is the ruling or is there any punishment? As in Islam it is not haraam or nothing proven, only Islamic scholars had raised an objection for oral sex but they too had not declared as haraam? Can we have oral sex, Pls adv....

Also I want to know if it is permissible in Islam for a man to remove hairs from chest for sexual pleasure or for any other reason?

Jazak Allah Khair

Answer:

Why oral sex unlawful and remove chest hair

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

May Allah Subhanah reward you with the best of this world and the Hereafter for your kind comments of encouragement for our humble efforts in the propagation of the Truth.  If our humble and modest efforts have helped even one brother or sister get closer to Allah and His Deen of Truth, then we would consider ourselves indeed fortunate to have been given this opportunity by the Lord Most Merciful to serve in His Cause.  We hope, beg, and pray the Merciful Lord accepts our humble and weak efforts, forgives us our shortcomings, and saves you, us, and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire.  Ameen.

Your Question: As in Islam it is not haraam or nothing proven, only Islamic scholars had raised an objection for oral sex but they too had not declared as haraam? Can we have oral sex, Pls adv....

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 222-223:

222    They ask thee concerning women's courses.  Say: ‘They are a hurt and a pollution; so keep away from women in their courses and do not approach them (for sexual intercourse) until they are clean.  But when they have purified themselves ye may approach them in any manner time or place ordained for you by Allah.  For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.’

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3195        Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "Allah will not (even) look at a man who has intercourse through the anus."

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 2157  Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘He who has intercourse with his wife through her anus is accursed.’

Allah and His Messenger (saws) have specified as absolutely unlawful for a believer who sincerely fears Allah and the Last Day to enjoy conjugal relations with his wife during her menses and through her anus.

Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, it is obvious that the act of ‘oral sex’, whereby one spouse derives pleasure by touching the private parts of the other with their mouth is obviously unnatural, unhealthy, unhygienic, unclean, impure and this act is not found even in any of the lower animate creations!

Because oral sex is a new deviation of mankind, it finds mention neither in the Quran nor the Sunnah, just as there is no mention of the permissibility/impermissibility of man deriving pleasure by trying to enter the woman through her nose, ears, navel, etc.!!!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verse 157:

157    Those who follow the Messenger, the ‘Ummi’ (unlettered) Prophet (Mohammed (saws)) whom they find mentioned in their own (Scriptures); in the Law and the Gospel; for he (Prophet Mohamed (saws)) commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil: he allows them as lawful what is ‘tayyibaat’ (good and pure) and prohibits them from what is ‘Khabaayith’ (bad, evil and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them.  So it is those who believe in him, honor him, help him, and follow the Light which is sent down with him: it is they who will prosper."

But since the permissibility/impermissibility of this specific act of what is known today as ‘oral sex’ is not mentioned by name or act anywhere in the Quran and the Sunnah, the God-fearing and the pious amongst the scholars in Islam have abstained from declaring it ‘haraam’; the most they have said is that the act is from the ‘khabaaith’ (impure) and thus closer to the haraam than to the halaal, and the believers should fear Allah and abstain from it.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3.267         Narrated by An Numan bin Bashir

The Prophet (saws) said "Both the halaal (lawful) and the haraam (unlawful) things are (made) obvious, and in between them are (suspicious) doubtful matters.  So whoever forsakes those doubtful things lest he may commit a sin, will definitely avoid what is clearly unlawful; and whoever indulges in these (suspicious) doubtful things bravely, is likely to commit what is clearly illegal.  Sins are Allah's Hima (i.e. private pasture) and whoever pastures (his sheep) near it, is likely to get in it at any moment."

Your Question: Can we have oral sex

Beloved brother in Islam, because nothing is mentioned regarding the act of ‘oral sex’ in the Quran and Sunnah, the scholars have abstained from declaring it outright ‘haraam’ or unlawful.  But without an iota of a doubt, the act of ‘oral sex’ is by consensus of the scholars and jurists in Islam considered to be amongst the ‘Khabaaith’ (impure), and is unnatural, unhealthy, unhygienic, and unclean, and thus in its essence closer to the unlawful than the lawful in Islam.

Given the unbelievable liberty Islam has granted to the husband and the wife to enjoy conjugal relations in their sacred bond of marriage, in our humble opinion, it would be best for the believers who sincerely fear Allah and the Last Day to strive to abstain from this doubtful act of ‘oral sex’; and Allah Alone Knows Best.

Your Question: Also I want to know if it is permissible in Islam for a man to remove hairs from chest for sexual pleasure or for any other reason?

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 5791        Narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib

When Ali described the Prophet (saws) he said: ‘He (saws) was neither very tall nor excessively short, but was a man of medium size. He (saws) had neither very curly nor flowing hair but a mixture of both. He (saws) was not obese, he (saws) did not have a very round face, but it was so to some extent. He (saws) was reddish-white, and had wide black eyes and long eyelashes. He (saws) had protruding joints and shoulder-blades, he (saws) was not hairy but had some hair on his chest, and the palms of his hands and his feet were calloused. When he (saws) walked he raised his feet as though he were walking on a slope; when he (saws) turned round he turned completely. Between his shoulders was the seal of Prophecy and he (saws) was the Seal of the prophets. He (saws) had a finer chest than anyone else, was truer in utterance than anyone else, had the gentlest nature and the noblest tribe. Those who saw him suddenly stood in awe of him and those who shared his acquaintanceship loved him. Those who described him said they had never seen anyone like him before or since.’

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.272         Narrated by Al Bara

I saw Allah's Messenger on the day (of the battle) of the Trench carrying earth till the hair of his chest were covered with dust and he was not a hairy man.

It is recorded that the Messenger of Allah (saws) did have some hair on his noble chest, but since there is no specific prohibition in Islam regarding the removal of the hair on one’s chest, the majority of the jurists in Islam are of the opinion that if one wishes to do so for any reason whatsoever there is no prohibition, nor harm, nor sin.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
