Answer:

Dua in Sajdah

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

May Allah Subhanah reward you with the best of this world and the Hereafter for your kind comments of encouragement for our humble efforts in the propagation of the Truth.  If our humble and modest efforts have helped even one brother or sister get closer to Allah and His Deen of Truth, then we would consider ourselves indeed fortunate to have been given this opportunity by the Lord Most Merciful to serve in His Cause.  We hope, beg, and pray the Merciful Lord accepts our humble and weak efforts, forgives us our shortcomings, and saves you, us, and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire.  Ameen.

Your Question: my question is "can we make dua in sajda"?

The Prophet (saws) said, 'The closest one of you comes to his Lord is while he is prostrating, (therefore) make many supplications therein.' And he (saws) also said, 'I have prohibited you from reciting (Quran) while bowing (ruku in prayer) or prostrating (sujood in prayer). During the bowing (ruku), Glorify the Lord. During the prostrations, strive your hardest in making supplications. Most likely, you will be listened to."

Related by Ahmad and Muslim.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) strongly stressed and absolutely encouraged the believers to make as many supplications as they willed in the state of prostration, for the closest a slave of Allah comes to his Lord Most Majestic Most Supreme is while the slave is in the act of prostration.

Your Question: if yes, it must be done in arabic or any language?

A supplication is a wish or desire for some good that emancipates from one’s heart and the tongue simply relates it.  Although it is not considered forbidden to supplicate the Lord Most High for whatever good one desires in any language one wills or wishes, it is highly recommended that when in the state of prayer one strives one’s best to follow the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) and recite their supplications in prayer in the language of the salaah: ie. Arabic.

At all other times, other than in the actual state of salaah, there is absolutely no condition, nor obligation, nor restriction to supplicate the Lord in the Arabic language, but one may do so in any language one wills or is easy for them….for not only does our Lord Most Gracious understand every language of every creature in His Universe, but He, The All-Knowing, All-Wise, is well aware of even the condition and secrets of our hearts!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
