Answer:
How does hereafter affect life
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 57 Surah
Hadid verses 20-21:
Know it well that the life of this world is
nothing but a sport and a pastime, and a show, and a thing of boasting among
yourselves, and a rivalry in wealth and children. Its example is of vegetation after a shower
of rain, which delights the
tillers; then the same ripens and you
see it turn yellow; then it becomes
straw. Contrary to this, in the life to come there is severe torment; and forgiveness from Allah and His Good Pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but an
illusionary screen.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 29 Surah
Ankaboot verse 64:
And the life of this world is nothing but a
sport and a pastime. The home of real
life is indeed the Hereafter. Would that
these people knew (what awaits them)!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anam verse 32:
This worldly life is but a sport and a
pastime. In fact, the abode of the
Hereafter is better for those who desire to be safe from harm. Will you not, then, use your common sense?
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah Zukhruf verse 83:
Well, let
them remain absorbed in their falsehoods and sports, till they see that Day of theirs with which
they are being threatened.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 50-51:
(On the Day of Judgement) The inmates of Hell

Your
Question: how does life after death affects a muslims life style?
Beloved Sister in Islam, in reality it is only, and we
reiterate, ONLY the true concept of the Hereafter which effects the lifestyle
of any individual in this world!
If one does not understand, or comprehend, or believe in
the true concept of the Last Day as enshrined in the Glorious Quran and Sunnah,
it is only obvious that one will spend his life in the mere pursuit of
satisfying his greed and his lust and the fulfillment of his ‘lower’ desires.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 79 Surah
Naziat verses 34-41:
34 Therefore when there comes the Great Overwhelming (Event, The Day of
Judgment!)
35 The Day when Man shall remember (all)
that he strove for
36 And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full
view for (all) to see
37 Then for such as had transgressed all
bounds
38 And had preferred the life of this world
39 The Abode will be Hell-Fire;
40 And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their
Lord's (Tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from ‘lower desires’
41 Their abode will be the Garden.
In contrast the one who believes and truly understands the
concept of the Last Day will realize that the short and transitory life of this
world is but a period of passing trials and tests ordained by the Lord Creator;
that the mission of creation by the Creator has a much higher purpose than mere
sport, and play, and amusements; and above all will comprehend that the way an
individual spends this short period on earth will determine whether one
succeeds or fails in the eternal and everlasting life of the Hereafter.
Thus the individual who truly comprehends the reality of
the Hereafter will not ‘waste’ his time in satisfying his self, his greeds, his
lusts, or his ‘lower desires’; but rather will ‘invest’ his proportioned time
in doing the prescribed deeds which will earn him the Pleasure and Good Will of
his Lord Creator in his pursuit of salvation for the Hereafter. Every word and every deed that will earn him
success in the Hereafter will be extremely valuable to him; and every word or
deed which has been proportioned no value in the Hereafter will be absolutely
worthless to such an individual.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah
Kahf verses 103-108:
103 Say: "Shall we tell you of those who
lose most in respect of their deeds?
104 (They are) Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while
they thought that they were acquiring good by their works?"
105 They are those who deny the Signs of their Lord, and the fact
of their having to meet Him (in the Hereafter): vain will be their
works, nor shall We on the Day of Judgment give them any weight.
106 That is their reward: Hell; because they rejected Faith and took My
Signs and My Messengers by way of jest.
107 As to those who believe and work righteous deeds they have for their
entertainment the Gardens of Paradise
108 Wherein they shall dwell (forever): no
change will they wish for from them.
Beloved Sister, the only reason and the mission for the
Lord appointing His Messengers and Revealing His Books was to guide mankind to
the Reality of the transient and temporary nature of his paltry worldly life
and the Truth of the permanent nature of the Eternal and Everlasting life of Pleasures
and Luxuries of the Hereafter.
The life of one who chooses to refuse, deny and reject
this all-important and invaluable Divine Guidance of their Lord Creator will
‘waste’ his allotted time in pursuing the pleasures of this short and
transitory world; but the life of one who truly accepts the Guidance of their
Lord will ‘invest’ his allotted time in seeking the True and Eternal life of
the Hereafter.
The life of one who does not believe will be wasted in
pursuing the earning and squandering of as much wealth as he can, and/or the
relentless pursuit of his lusts, and/or the desire to gain as much status, or
recognition, or fame as he can accumulate!
But the life of one who sincerely believes in Allah and
the Last Day will be ‘invested’ in doing deeds which will earn him the Pleasure
and Good Will of his Lord Creator in the Hereafter. He will only pursue those things in this
world which will further his cause and mission of salvation in the Hereafter;
and will strive to abstain from doing deeds which has no ‘weight’ in the Sight
of the Majestic Lord in the Hereafter.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 29 Surah
Ankaboot verse 64:
And the life of this world is nothing but a
sport and a pastime. The home of real
life is indeed the Hereafter. Would that
these people knew (what awaits them)!
If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and
commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws),
one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other
guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured
of being led astray.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
