i have doubts about hadiths i will just give the no,book .volume of the hadith i would like you to display the hadith as well as the doubt i am asking and these are as follows:


shahi bukhari (book 71.volumn 7, hadith606)

it is says about 70,000 people will enter jannah without rekoning is it true?

what is meant by not treating oneself with ruqya?

what is ruqya ??

70000 people to paradise

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.606         Narrated by Ibn Abbas

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘Nations were displayed before me; one or two Prophets would pass by along with a few of their followers. A Prophet would pass by accompanied by nobody.  Then a big crowd of people passed in front of me and I asked, 'Who are they? Are they my followers?'  It was said, 'No. It is Moses and his followers.'  It was said to me, 'Look at the horizon.' Behold! There was a multitude of people filling the horizon. Then it was said to me, 'Look there and there about the stretching sky!'  Behold! There was a multitude filling the horizon.  It was said to me, 'This is your nation out of whom seventy thousand shall enter Paradise without reckoning.'   Then the Prophet  (saws) entered his house without telling his companions who they (the 70,000) were. So the people started talking about the issue and said, "It is we who have believed in Allah and followed His Messenger (saws); therefore those people are either ourselves or our children who are born in the Islamic era, for we were born in the Pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance.''  When the Prophet (saws) heard of that, he (saws) came out and said. "Those (70,000) people are those who do not treat themselves with Ruqya, nor do they believe in bad or good omen, nor do they get themselves branded (cauterized), but they put their trust (only) in their Lord." On that 'Ukasha bin Muhsin said, "Am I one of them, O Allah's Messenger (saws)?" The Prophet (saws) said, "Yes." Then another person got up and said, "Am I one of them?" The Prophet (saws) said, -Ukasha has anticipated you."

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 53 Surah Najm verses 2-5:

2        Your companion (Prophet Mohamed (saws)) is neither astray nor being misled

3        Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) desire.

4        It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:

5        He (saws) was taught by one mighty in power (Hadrat Jibrael (a.s.))!

Dear and Beloved brother in Islam, Allah Subhanah Himself guarantees that the Prophet Mohamed (saws) does not give any information about any aspect of the deen or the Hereafter of his own desire, but he (saws) relates in Truth whatever is inspired to him by Hadrat Jibrael (a.s.) with the Permission and Command of Allah Subhanah.

 

In the above quoted authentic hadith, the Prophet Mohamed (saws) informed his companions that 70,000 fortunate believers from the Muslim Ummah will enter Paradise without any reckoning.

 

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 56 Surah Waqiah verse 10:

10      And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter)!

11      These will be those Nearest to Allah:

12      In Gardens of Bliss:

13      A (vast) number of people from those of old

14      And a few from those of later times.

 

Allah Alone Knows who these fortunate 70,000 believers would be, but in light of the above verse of Surah Al-Waqiah, it is safe to assume that a vast majority of them will those from the earliest generation of believers and a few of them will be believers from later times.

 

Your Question: what is ruqya ??

The term or act of ‘ruqya’ when used in the Islamic sense would mean the recital of some incantation seekings Allah’s help for a specific fear or ailment.  Before the revelations of the Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Naas, the Messenger of Allah (saws) would at times perform the ‘ruqya’ and seek Allah’s help.

 

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.640         Narrated by Aisha

Allah's Messenger (saws) used to treat with a ‘Ruqya’ saying, "O the Lord of the people! Remove the trouble. The cure is in Your Hands, and there is none except You Who can remove it (the disease). "

 

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith  7.638        Narrated by Abdul Aziz

Thabit and I went to Anas bin Malik. Thabit said, "O Abu Hamza! I am sick." On that Anas said, "Shall I treat you with the Ruqya of Allah's Messenger (saws)?"  Thabit said, "Yes." Anas recited, "O Allah! The Lord of the people, the Remover of trouble! (Please) cure (heal this patient), for You are the Healer. None brings about healing but You; a healing that will leave behind no ailment."

 

Before the revelation of the Muawidaat (113th Surah Al-Falaq and 114th Surah An-Naas), the Messenger of Allah (saws) would seek the protection of Allah by reciting a ‘ruqya’ supplication; but after the revelation of these two magnificent Surahs, the Messenger of Allah (saws) would seek the protection of Allah from all evils through their recitation.

 

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 1019        Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri

The Prophet (saws) used to seek protection against the Jinn and the evil eye till Surahs al-Falaq and an-Naas were revealed. After they were revealed, he (saws) stuck to them and discarded everything beside them.

 

Your Question: what is meant by not treating oneself with ruqya?

People in the days of ignorance before Islam used all sorts of ‘ruqyas’ or charms, or incantations, or spells, etc. to remove their afflictions, and believed that some specific charms, incantations, spells, etc. could remove their afflictions.  They would put their full trust and belief in the powers of these ‘ruqyas’, rather than in the Power and Strength of Allah Subhanah.

 

In the days of ignorance before Islam, such was the widespread belief in the healing powers of these self-invented ‘ruqyas’ or spells, that this was used as the absolute first remedy for any ailment or affliction that befell them.  With the advent of the guidance of Islam, the believers were strongly commanded to put their absolute, full, and unshakeable trust in the Powers of Allah Subhanah Alone and leave every other ‘ruqya’, charm, incantation, and spell forever, and thus manifest their belief in the Supreme Strength and Power of the One and Only Lord of the Worlds.

 

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
