Answer:
Abort to save family honour
In the name of Allah, We
praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
When one commits a
‘sin’, it is only fair and just that the one who committed the sin is duly
punished for their sin. No fair or just
law would ever allow or hold it permissible for an innocent life to be
sacrificed only so that the honor or name or guilt of the one who committed the
crime is protected!
If any society gives
permission that one who fears persecution for their crime of zina can abort the
un-born child, it would encourage the spread of ‘zina’ in such societies! The Perfect Guidance of Islam guides that
only the guilty be duly and justly punished for their crime, regardless of how
much shame or dishonor it might bring to the one who committed the crime. Not only would such a judgment discourage and
deter crime, the fear of the shame and dishonor one would bring upon oneself
and their loved ones would make a criminal think twice before doing the crime.
The child born out of
‘zina’ would be deemed absolutely innocent of the crime of his parents in the
Sight of Islamic Law, the believers, and Allah Subhanah. Only the ones who were
guilty of the crime will be responsible and duly punished for their
transgression.
Under no circumstances
can one justify the murder of an innocent soul; least of all being to hide the
crime of the transgressor, or to save the face, honor, and reputation of one
who committed the evil!! When one
chooses to do evil, one must also fear the consequences that will befall
themselves and their loved ones because of their evil; perchance it may deter
or discourage them from engaging in their transgression. But for any law to allow, or justify, or hold
it permissible for the evil to kill an innocent soul that emancipated from
their transgression only so that the evil would be able to save their honor and
reputation would be against the very principle of justice, equity, and
righteousness!
To put things in proper
perspective, one must realize that the one who committed the evil of ‘zina’ is
the criminal, and the un-born child is the innocent victim! To sympathize with the criminal and punish
the innocent victim might be justified by the unrighteous and ungodly societies
in this world; but such injustice would never be acceptable by the righteous
who fear their Lord and are certain that One Inevitable Day all will be brought
forth to the Just Tribunal before their Majestic Lord and Creator.
The one who commits the abomination
of ‘zina’, and then strives to hide their abomination by committing an evil
greater abomination of aborting or murdering an innocent soul might be able to
get away with their crime in the life of this world; but without an iota of a
doubt, the one who commits such transgressions will be held to severe account
in the Just and Supreme Court of the Majestic Lord on an Inevitable Day of
Justice!
