Answer:
Counting on beads or tasbih
In the name of Allah, We
praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah Says in
the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale-Imraan verses 190-195:
190 Behold! In the creation of the heavens and the earth and the
alternation of night and day there are indeed Signs for men of understanding.
191 Men who celebrate the Praises of Allah standing, sitting, and lying
down on their sides; and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens
and the earth (with the thought): "O Our Lord! Not for naught hast Thou
created (all) this! Glory to thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the
fire.
192 O Our Lord! Any whom Thou dost admit to the fire, truly Thou
coverest with shame; and never will wrong-doers find any helpers!.
193 O Our Lord! We have heard the
call of one calling (us) to faith `Believe ye in the Lord' and we have
believed. O Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our
iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous.
194 O Our Lord! Grant us what
Thou didst promise unto us through Thine Messengers, and save us from shame on
the Day of Judgment: for Thou never breakest Thy promise."
195 And their Lord hath accepted of them and answered them: "Never
will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you be he male or female: ye are
members one of another; those who have left their homes, or been driven out
therefrom, or suffered harm in My cause, or fought, or been slain; verily, I
will blot out from them their iniquities and admit them into Gardens with
rivers flowing beneath; a reward from the Presence of Allah, and from His
Presence is the best of rewards."
Your Question: is counting on tasbi is bidaa
If one wishes to count
the number of Praises, or Glorifications, or terms of Remembrances of the Lord
Most Exalted, there is absolutely no harm or restriction if one uses one’s hand
or takes the help of an instrument like beads, tasbih, etc.
A bida or innovation is
something which is invented, innovated, and added to the deen of Islam after
the deen was completed on Prophet Mohamed (saws). It especially concerns the
rites and rituals of worship, or any
deed which was not performed or endorsed by the Messenger of Allah (saws), but was added as a part of the deen after his
(saws’s) death. It also concerns any
innovated deed which one does and believes that by doing this innovated deed,
he is eligible to earn more reward from Allah Subhanah.
Some ignorant people
have indeed claimed that the use of ‘tasbih’ is a bida, but that opinion is
absolutely incorrect! These same people
state that the declaration of the ‘adhaan’ on the microphone is bida, or
praying on a carpet is bida, or praying in air-condition is a bida, etc. simply
because the Messenger of Allah (saws) did not do these acts in that way!
If one believes that
declaring the adhaan through the microphone is more rewarding or the only way
to declare adhaan, or one believes that praying on a carpet is more rewarding
or the only place to pray, or one believes that the praying of a prayer in
air-condition is worthy of more rewards, etc. then indeed it would constitute a
case of bida!
Similarly, if one thinks
that celebrating the praises of Allah Subhanah with a ‘tasbih’ is more
rewarding than celebrating it otherwise, or one believes that the only way to
celebrate the praises of Allah is through the ‘tasbih’, then indeed it would
constitute a case of ‘bida’. But if one simply wishes to use the tasbih as
a count instead of his fingers, and does not believe that one has more reward
than the other, or that one is the best or only way, it would not constitute a
case of bida or innovation.
Your Statement: it is true we cant count zikar but that
feeling that inthis way shaitaan will not stop me from zikar
If the holding or
carrying of a tasbih helps one to remember their Lord more often, there is
absolutely no harm in holding or carrying a tasbih. But one should not think that the simple
holding of the ‘tasbih’ in one’s hand will stop or deter the accursed enemy of
man, the evil Shaytaan from whispering evil into their hearts!
The way to neutralize
and deter the evil whisperings of the accursed Shaytaan is to constantly seek
refuge in Allah from the evil of the Shaytaan by reciting the 113th
Surah Al-Falaq and the 114th Surah An-Naas, or by declaring
‘Aoodobillahe minas Shaytaan ir-rajeem’ (I seek refuge in Allah from the
Shaytaan, the accursed)
Allah Says in
the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 200-201:
200 If a suggestion from the Shaytaan assail thy (mind), seek refuge
with Allah; for He Hears and Knows (all things).
201 Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from the Shaytaan
assaults them, (immediately) bring Allah to remembrance; when lo! they see
(aright)!
Allah Says in
the Holy Quran Chapter 23 Surah Muminoon verses 96-98:
96 Repel evil with that which is best: We are well-acquainted with the
things they say.
97 And say: "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the
suggestions of the Shayateen.
98 And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! Lest they should come near
me."
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
