Answer:

Dua fir anxiety

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Statement: may Allah reserve to you and your team a place in Janna

May Allah Subhanah reward you with the best of this world and the Hereafter for your kind comments of encouragement for our humble efforts in the propagation of the Truth.  If our humble and modest efforts have helped even one brother or sister get closer to Allah and His Deen of Truth, then we would consider ourselves indeed fortunate to have been given this opportunity by the Lord Most Merciful to serve in His Cause.  We hope, beg, and pray the Merciful Lord  accepts our humble and weak efforts,  forgives us our shortcomings, and saves you, us, and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire.  Ameen.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 6588     Narrated by Abud Darda

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence) that the Angels do not say: “The same be for you too.”’

Dear and beloved brother in Islam, if one were to ask any human being on this planet earth, what are they actually searching for……everyone without exception would say that the thing that they are truly searching for and most are unable to find is the ‘contentment of the heart’ or relief from anxiety!

What mankind is desperately searching for all over the world, and striving endlessly with all his means to achieve - the elusive ‘contentment of the heart’ or ‘relief from anxiety’ –  the simple formula to achieve what all of mankind is desperately searching for is made known by the All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord in one sentence in His Glorious Book of Guidance, the Al-Quran!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 13 Surah Raad verse 28-29:

The people who have accepted (the Message),  their hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah.  Note it well!,  that is Allah’s remembrance Alone that brings contentment to the hearts!  Blessed are those who have accepted the Message and done righteous deeds.   They will have a good end.

Allah is our witness brother, only and only those who have truly and sincerely accepted the Message, those who sincerely and unconditionally trust, obey and follow the Guidance revealed to them by their Lord Creator, and are foremost in the Remembrance of their Lord….they and they alone are truly able to experience the contentment that this Remembrance of their Lord Creator brings to their hearts!

Thus the only permanent remedy for ‘anxiety’ is nothing but the true and sincere adherence and unconditional obedience to the guidance of Allah and His Messenger (saws)!  Allah is our witness brother, nothing, and I repeat nothing: no amount of education, no amount of wealth, no amount of power, no amount of wives and children and family and status, nothing, absolutely nothing else can bring contentment to one’s heart, except the constant Remembrance of Allah Subhanah, the Lord and Creator of the Worlds!

Your Question: is there du`a for anxiety?

Although there are several supplications from the Quran and the Sunnah which one may make to get relief from anxiety, in our humble opinion amongst the best supplications is the one made by the Noble Prophet Yunus (a.s.) as related by Allah Subhanah in His Glorious Quran:

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verses 87-88:

87      And remember Zun-nun (Yunus (a.s.)) when he departed in wrath: he imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the depths of darkness "There is no god but Thou: Glory to Thee: I was indeed wrong!"

88      So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith.

My dear and beloved brother, Allah is our witness, there is none with true faith who sincerely and humbly, in absolute awe, fear and hope beseeches and implores their Lord Creator, and their Lord Most Merciful does not respond to their supplication!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 186:

And if  My servants ask you,  O Prophet, concerning Me,  tell them that I am quite near to them.   I hear and answer the prayer of the suppliant,  when he calls on Me.  So let them respond to My call and believe in Me.  (Convey this to them),  perhaps they may be guided aright!

Salman reported that the Prophet (saws), said, "Your Lord, the Blessed and the Exalted One, is Modest and Generous, and He loathes to turn away His servant empty-handed when he raises his hands to Him in supplication."

Narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Hibban.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2257        Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri

The Prophet (saws) said, "Any Muslim who makes a supplication containing nothing which is sinful, or which involves breaking ties of relationship,  will be given for it by Allah one of three things: He will give him swift answer, or store it up for him in the next world, or turn away from him an equivalent amount of evil."  Those who heard it said they would then make many supplications and he (saws) replied that Allah was more ready to answer than they were to ask.

Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet (saws), said, "If any servant of Allah afflicted with distress or grief makes this supplication, his supplication will be accepted:  'O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of your maidservant.   My forehead is in Your hand.   Your command conceming me prevails, and Your decision concerning me is just.  I call upon You by every one of the beautiful names by which You have described Yourself, or which You have revealed in Your book, or have taught anyone of Your creatures, or which You have chosen to keep in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Qur'an the delight of my heart, the light of my breast, and remover of my griefs, sorrows, and afflictions'." A supplication in these words will be answered.  Allah will remove one's affliction and replace it with joy and happiness.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2248        Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "There are three whose supplication is not rejected:  one who has just ended a fast,  a just imam,  and one who has been wronged,  whose supplication is raised by Allah above the clouds and for which the gates of Heaven are opened.   The Lord says, 'I swear by My might that I shall certainly help you, though it be after some time.'"

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
