salam alaikum.I know that that is haram for muslim women to visit the grave.My father died,but only allah knows if he accepted my religion,because when he died im not beside him,what i know is that he is not againts my belief as a muslim,when he was alive i tried to depart my knowledge about islam to him.if he died as a christian,i know i cant visit his graves,can i just tell somebody to clean his grave?

if the person is dying,does he know that he is dying,?if he died can he see his human body just for a while,after the soul separates from his body?

Can women visit father grave?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

Your Statement: I know that that is haram for muslim women to visit the grave.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: “, "May Allah curse the women who are frequent visitors of the graves."

Related by Ahmad and Tirmidhi.

 

Hadrat Abdallah ibn Abi Mulaikah (r.a.) said, "Once Aishah (the wife of the Prophet (saws)) returned after visiting the graveyard. I asked, 'O Mother of the Believers, where have you been?' She said: 'I went out to visit the grave of my brother Abd ar-Rahman.' I asked her: 'Didn't the Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibit visiting graves?' She said, 'Yes, he did forbid visiting graves during the early days, but later on he ordered us to visit them'."

Related by Al-Hakim and Al-Baihaqi.

 

The purpose of visiting graves is to remember the Hereafter, which is something that both men and women need.  Men are by no means more in need of this reminder than women.

 

Al-Qurtubi said: "The curse mentioned in this hadith applies only to those women who visit graves ‘frequently’.  The reason for this curse lies perhaps in the fact that it involves infringement of the rights of the husband, and leads to adornment and exhibition of their beauty to strangers, and shouting, yelling, and other similar things." It may be said that, "If no such harm is feared from women visiting graves, then there is no valid reason for preventing them from visiting graves, for indeed remembrance of death is something that both men and women equally need."

 

Most of the scholars in Islam hold it permissible for the women to visit the graves occasionally;  but hold it forbidden for the women to visit the graves frequently as stated by the Messenger of Allah (saws).

There is absolutely no harm in Islam if the daughter wishes to occasionally visit the grave of her father, regardless of the religion of the father.  There is absolutely no harm or restriction if one wishes to clean the place around the grave, or appoint someone to clean it.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 75 Surah Qayahmah verses 26-29:

26      Yea when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit)

27      And there will be a cry "Who is a magician (to restore him)?"

28      And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting;

29      And one leg will be joined with another!

 

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 47 Surah Mohammed verse 27: But how (will it be) when the Angels take their souls at death and smite their faces and their backs?

 

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 8 Surah Anfaal verses 50-51:

50      If thou couldst (only) see when the Angels take the souls of the unbelievers (at death) (how) they smite their faces and their backs (saying): "Taste the penalty of the blazing fire.

51      "Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sent forth: for Allah is never unjust to His servants.

 

In light of the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, it is evident that one who is in the final agonies of death knows very well that the test period of his life is over and that it is time for his soul to depart from his body.  This final state of man at the absolute doors of death is known as ‘sakarat-ul-maut’.

 

Your Question: if he died can he see his human body just for a while,after the soul separates from his body? 

Dear and Beloved Sister in Islam, the exact nature of one’s condition once the soul has departed from one’s body at death is known to none save Allah Subhanah.  What exactly transpires at that moment and thereafter in the period between death and the Day of Judgment is from amongst the ‘knowledge of the unseen’, and that Knowledge is with the All Mighty Lord Alone. 

 

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
