I request you to kindly contact him at (its a Bahrain no. since you too are based in bahrain i am sure it will not be a problem contacting him.)reach a proper decision.I am making most of my friends and relatives confused by telling them one answer and next day again telling them another answer.

Answer:

Menses quran

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Beloved and dear Brother in Islam, we seek your forgiveness and the forgiveness of Allah Subhanah if anything that we have said has been the root of any confusion or misunderstanding in the deen.  Brother Shaikh Abdul Hamid is indeed a great scholar and a personal and close friend and brother of ours.  May Allah Subhanah reward him generously in this world and the Hereafter for the good deeds he does in the noble Cause of Allah Subhanah.

Beloved brother, we are quoting below for your reference the answer 646 verbatim from our archive, where we have clearly mentioned the exact same opinion as given by our brother, Shaikh Abdul Hamid, that a woman may touch the Glorious Quran with gloves during her menses, provided she is engaged in the either the studying or the teaching of the Quran.

But under normal circumstances, it would be prudent for a woman to abstain from touching the Quran, so as to be in complete obedience of the command of Allah Subhanah:

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 56 Surah Waqiah verses 77-80:

77      That this is indeed a Qur'an most honorable

78      In a Book well-guarded

79      Which none shall touch but those who are clean (and pure):

80      A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.

Ref: Archive answer 646:

What is the most preferred opinion/ruling regarding women who are in their menstrual period and touching/reading the Qur`aan? What if a female is studying hifz? Are the use of gloves permissible in handling the Qur`aan?

This is a issue on which the scholars of Islam have a difference of opinion.    The best and most accepted opinion is that a women who is in their menstrual period should abstain from touching the Quran,  until she has purified herself.

Most of the scholars are of the opinion that there is no harm for a woman,  who is in her menstrual period,  to recite the Quran from memory.

Your Question: What if a female is studying hifz? Are the use of gloves permissible in handling the Qur`aan?
If the woman is studying hifz and fears that she might forget if not rehearsed, or is a Quranic teacher and needs to teach, etc.;  under these special circumstances the scholars are of the opinion that there is no harm if the woman in her menstrual period,  touches the Quran,  but she must wear gloves while doing so.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
