Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's
Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Dear Ignoranus (Stupid & Axxhole) Wahabbi
You accuse us of commiting shirk when we call our beloved Syedna
for help in our prayers and claim that asking for help to other than god is
polytheism. Then by the same logic you should never go to doctor when you
becomes sick because this is polytheism (shirk)! Your going to doctor is a type
of seeking a help from a specialist even though you will never say by your
tongue that you are getting help from the doctor. Acting shirk is enough. Also
you should not ask any question from anyone or request anything from any one because
all these are shirk. Furthermore, you shouldn't eat any food because you should
not help yourself by any other than God!.
(There
may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum
does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from

In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Beloved
and dear Brother in Islam, we seek your understanding and forgiveness, and the
forgiveness of Allah Subhanah, if the weakness and shortcomings in our writing
and our explanation has led you to misunderstand or misinterpret the
understanding of the heinous and abomination of the gravest of the grave sins:
‘shirk’ or associating or invoking others with Allah Subhanah.
Your
Statement-1: Then by the same logic you should never go to doctor when you
becomes sick because this is polytheism (shirk)! Your going to doctor is a type
of seeking a help from a specialist even though you will never say by your
tongue that you are getting help from the doctor.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah Zukhruf verse 32
(part): It is We (Allah) Who portions out between them (men) their livelihood
in the life of this world: and We raise some of them above others in ranks, so
that some may command work from others.
Beloved
and dear Brother in Islam, it is only natural that Allah Subhanah has given
some amongst his creation more knowledge, more intelligence, more wealth, more
strength, etc. and raised some above others in the ranks, so that one human
being may command or seek work or help from another.
Man was
not created to live alone, but rather in a community of other human beings
where he is commanded to give and take rights, give and take help, teach and be
taught, work to earn one’s livelihood or provide someone with work, etc. Thus the interaction of one human being with
another is a natural phenomena of life.
Seeking
work or help from one another who is in direct contact using the tools of
regular communication is absolutely essential to live one’s life in full; and
that has got absolutely nothing to do with the abomination of ‘shirk’.
But if
one were to seek work or help from
another in the ‘unseen’, whereby one communicates or invokes another without
the regular means of communication, and
assumes that any in creation has the power to hear his call, or respond to his
call, or help him in the ‘unseen’, or get his work done in the ‘unseen’, etc.
is exactly what Allah Subhanah declares as ‘shirk’ in His Glorious Quran.
There is
absolutely no harm if one goes to seek help from a doctor when in medical need,
or calls a doctor using any of the modern means of communication and seeks his
help and advice over the phone, or the internet, etc. That is not shirk.
But say
one were to sit in his home and invoke a doctor without any means of regular
communication, and assume and believe that this doctor has the power to hear
him (and everyone else who calls him simultaneously) anytime of the day or
night in the ‘unseen’, or this doctor has the power not only to hear him but
also understand him in any language he
(and everyone) speaks in, or this doctor has the power to respond to his (and
everyone’s) invocation or call, or that this doctor has the power to help or
heal him (and everyone) in the ‘unseen’, etc.;
then this belief would definitely be a manifestation of the abomination
of ‘shirk’!!!
To
believe that anyone or anything other than Allah Subhanah has the power to hear
anyone and everyone in existence in the ‘unseen’, or to believe that anyone
other than Allah has the power to respond to everyone in the ‘unseen’, or to believe
that anyone other than Allah Subhanah has the power to help or heal everyone in
the ‘unseen’ is to share the Exclusive and Noble Attributes of Allah Subhanah
of All-Hearing, All-Encompassing, and All-Powerful with someone else in His
creation! Such a belief would definitely
be a form of the abomination of ‘shirk’!!!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 20 Surah Taha verses
7-8:Whether you utter your supplications in a loud voice, (it makes no
difference!); for He knows not only what
is said in a low voice, but (knows) also
what is kept most secret! He is
Allah! There is no god but He! His are all the Excellent Names.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse73:O
mankind! A parable is related to
you, so listen to it! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create a fly, even though they may all combine together for
this purpose! Nay! If a fly snatches away
anything from them, they would have no
power to release it from the fly! How
weak are those who petition, and how
weak are those to whom they supplicate!
Your
Statement-2: Also you should not ask any question from anyone or request
anything from any one because all these are shirk.
Beloved
brother in Islam, if one asks someone a question in person or through a mode of
regular communication whereby the other can hear him or respond to him; there
is absolutely no harm and does not constitute a belief of ‘shirk’ in the least.
But say I
were to sit in London and in the solitude of my own room without any regular mode
of communication, call upon or invoke a human being living in New York; and
assume and sincerely believe the person in New York can hear my invocation, or
respond to my call in the ‘unseen’, or even understand my invocation in the
‘unseen’, etc. then such a belief would definitely be a manifestation of the
abomination of ‘shirk’!
Similarly,
just imagine if one were to call upon a person dead for centuries and buried in
his grave, and assume that the person has the power to hear and respond to his
invocation; that would definitely be a manifestation of the heinous and
abomination sin of ‘shirk’!
Your
Statement-3: Furthermore, you shouldn't eat any food because you should not
help yourself by any other than God!.
I really
am apprehensive to respond to the above statement for fear of sounding
absolutely illogical or insane!
Beloved
brother in Islam, if the food is in front of me, and I use my hands to put the
food in my mouth, chew and swallow the food, and appease my hunger with this
food; then it is only natural and there is not even an iota of ‘shirk’ involved
in this act.
But lets
assume that the food is in a far-away distant place, and I call upon someone in
the ‘unseen’ to appease my hunger with that food, and sincerely believe that
the person has the power to hear and respond to my appeal to appease my
physical hunger; how illogical or insane would I sound???
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 13 Surah Raad verse 14: For Him
(Allah Alone) is prayer in Truth: any others that they call upon besides Him
hear them no more than if they were to stretch forth their hands for water to
reach their mouth but it reaches them not: for the prayer of those without
Faith is nothing but (futile) wandering (in the mind).
Your
Statement-4: You accuse us of commiting shirk when we call our beloved Syedna
for help in our prayers and claim that asking for help to other than god is
polytheism.
Beloved
brother, if you went in person or called your high priest using a regular mode
of communication, and spoke to him in a language he understands whereby he can
physically hear you and he responds to your statements; there is absolutely no
harm.
But to
sit in even the next room where the high priest cannot see or hear you
physically; and assuming or believing that he can hear everything you say, or
to believe that he knows the condition of your heart, or to believe that he can
understand you in any language you speak, or to believe that he can respond to
your invocation no matter what it is, or to believe that he can provide you
with any help whatsoever in the ‘unseen’, etc. are all nothing but
manifestations of the heinous and unforgivable manifestations of ‘shirk’!!!
My
beloved and dear Brother in Islam, it is Allah Subhanah Alone Who has the Power
and does hear and see everyone in His creation in the ‘unseen’, for He Alone is
the All-Hearing, All Seeing, All Knowing.
It is
Allah Subhanah Alone Who has the Power and Strength to respond to all our
invocations in the ‘unseen’, for He Alone is the All-Powerful, All Mighty.
To assume
or believe that anyone other than the All-Mighty Lord has the power to hear or
respond to our invocations in the ‘unseen’ is a definite manifestation of the
heinous abomination and the gravest of the grave sins: ie. ‘shirk’ or
associating others with the Rank or Attribute of Allah Subhanah. And that is the one sin the Lord All Mighty
has singled out as being ‘unforgivable’ in His Supreme Court of Justice on the
Inevitable Day of Judgment!
Allah says in the Quran: Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa Verse 48:Shirk
(associating others with Allah) is the only sin that Allah does
not forgive, and He forgives, whomsoever He pleases, sins other than this. For whosoever associates any other partner
with Allah, does indeed forge a big lie and commits the most heinous sin
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 72:Whoever
commits ‘shirk’ Allah shall forbid for him
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 65-66:If
you commit ‘shirk’ all your works will be rendered vain and you will be among
the losers. Therefore, you should worship Allah Alone, and be among His grateful servants.
My
beloved and dear Brother in Islam, the absolute abstention of the belief of
‘shirk’ and the unreserved belief in ‘Tawheed’ (Oneness of Allah Subhanah) are
the pivots of the deen of Truth called Al-Islam. Unfortunately, the avowed enemy of man, the
Shaytaan has trapped many amongst mankind in this abyss of ‘shirk’ and made it
fair-seeming to them, to unable him to fulfill his mission to take a multitude
of mankind with him to the guaranteed depths of Hell Fire!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verse
98-100:Then, when you begin to recite the Quran, seek Allah’s refuge against the accursed
Shaitaan, for he has no power over those
who believe and put their trust in Allah.
Shaitaan has power (to inspire) only over those people, who make him their patron, and practice ‘shirk’ by his temptation.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verses 53-54:
53 That He (Allah) may make
the suggestions thrown in by Shaytaan but a trial for those in whose hearts is
a disease (of shirk, kufr, hypocrisy, etc.), and who are hardened of heart:
verily the wrongdoers are in a schism far (from the Truth):
54 And that those on whom
knowledge has been bestowed may learn that the (Qur'an) is the Truth from thy
Lord, and that they may believe therein and their hearts may be made humbly
(open) to it: for verily Allah is the Guide of those who believe to the
Beloved
brother, the only way to understand and comprehend the manifestations of this
abomination of ‘shirk’ is to understand the Message of the Glorious Quran; and
none can explain this concept better than the One Who has declared it
unforgivable! Unconditional obedience to
a high priest, or attending a thousand ‘urs’ and ‘saalgirahs’ are not going to
clarify the all-important differentiations between shirk and Tawheed! The one thing that must be used as a
Criterion to differentiate between the Truth and the falsehood is the Holy
Quran. Thus we humbly request you, as
your genuine well-wishers in this deen of Islam, to read the Glorious Quran
with understanding, even only once! Allah
is my witness, the Book is a Perfect Guidance revealed for mankind, and The
Lord All Mighty has Himself declared the Book is The Criterion between Truth
and falsehood.
Allah says in Chapter 2, Surah Baqarah aayat 185:Ramadan is the
month in which the Quran was sent down: this Book is a Perfect Guidance for
mankind and consists of clear Teachings which show the
May Allah
Subhanah increase yours and our quest to seek the knowledge of Truth, expand
yours and our hearts to understand and comprehend the Truth, help you and us,
have mercy upon you and us, and guide you, us, and all the believers to the

Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
