What if bad dreams from Shaitaan come true?
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's
Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
I`ve heard that all bad
dreams are by the Shaitan, and all the good dreams
are by Allah. If a person has a bad dream, and ,Allah
forbid, it comes true, than does that mean that the Shaitan
knows the future? i thought
that only Allah knows a persons future. I`m confused
about this
Another question, Sometimes, when i am
praying, i get tongue twisted and i
have to say some parts of the verses over and over and over again, i don`t do this intentionally, i only do it so i can get it
right, so is that a sin?
Another thing, any du`as
i can do to keep my brothers and other Muslims to
have strong faith and stay steadfast in prayers? i`ll appreciate it. Jazaak

Answer:

In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 27 Surah Naml verse 65: Say: None in the heavens or on earth except Allah knows what is
hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be
raised up (for Judgment).
Indeed,
there is none in the heavens and the earth who has the knowledge of the past,
present and the future and the perfect knowledge of the seen and the ‘unseen’
except the One Lord of the Worlds Alone.
Al-Muwatta Hadith
52.4
Yahya related to me from Malik
from Yahya ibn Said that
Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman said, "I heard
Abu Qatada ibn Ribiyy say that he heard the Messenger of Allah, (saws)
say, 'The good dream is from Allah, and the bad dream is from the Shaytan. When you see what you dislike, spit to your left
side three times when you wake up, and seek refuge with Allah from its evil. It
will not harm you then, Allah willing.' " Abu Salama said, "I would see dreams which weighed on me
more heavily than a mountain. When I heard this hadith,
I was not concerned about it."
The evil
or bad dreams from the Shaytaan are mainly concerned
with ‘fahesha’, indecency, or something which scares
a person like a nightmare, etc. If a
person sees a dream whereby one incurs some loss of life or property, or the
person is put in some trial or tribulation, etc.; it does not necessarily mean
that it is an evil or bad dream or it is from the Shaytaan! It may be that this dream is a warning and a
reminder from Allah Subhanah, so that one may seek
refuge in the All-Mighty and come closer to Him in faith and actions.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.144 Narrated
by Abu Huraira
Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "When the Day of Resurrection
approaches, the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to come true, and a dream
of a believer is one of forty-six parts of Prophetism,
and whatever belongs to Prothetism can never be
false." Muhammad bin Sirin said, "But I say this." He said, "It
used to be said, 'There are three types of dreams: The
reflection of one's thoughts and experiences one has during wakefulness, what
is suggested by Satan to frighten the dreamer, or glad tidings from Allah. So,
if someone has a dream which he dislikes, he should not tell it to others, but
get up and offer a prayer.'"

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 6.459 Narrated
by Aisha
The Prophet (saws) said, "Such a person as recites the Qur'an and masters it by heart, will be with the noble
righteous scribes (in Heaven). And such
a person exerts himself to learn the Qur'an by heart,
and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double
reward."
Beloved
sister, the Messenger of Allah (saws) promised that Allah Subhanah
will give a double reward for a person who strives to recite the Quran with great difficulty; one for his/her recitation of
the Quran and one for the striving they did in
reading it right!
Thus, if
for any reason, you get tongue twisted in striving to recite the Aayahs of the Quran in the prayer
or otherwise, and thus have to recite them over and over again to get the pronunciation
and the verses correct, rest assured that your double reward is confirmed with
the Merciful Lord for your efforts.
Praise be to Allah Subhanah
Who has been so Merciful towards His believing slaves!
Your
Question: Another thing, any du`as i can do to keep my brothers and other Muslims to have
strong faith and stay steadfast in prayers? i`ll appreciate it.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 14 Surah Ibraheem verses 40-41:
40 (Ibraheem
prayed:)"O my Lord! Make
me one who establishes regular prayer and also (raise such) among my offspring,
O our Lord! and accept Thou my Prayer.”
41 "O our Lord! cover
(us) with Thy Forgiveness, me, my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that
the Reckoning will be established!"
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verses 191-195:
191 Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying
down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens
and the earth (with the thought): "Our Lord! Not for naught hast Thou Created (all) this!
Glory to thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the fire.”
192 "Our Lord! Any whom Thou dost admit to the fire, truly
Thou coverest with shame and never will wrong-doers
find any helpers!.”
193 "Our Lord! We have heard the call of one calling (us) to
faith `Believe ye in the Lord' and we have believed. O Our Lord!
Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous.”
194 "Our Lord! Grant us what Thou
didst promise unto us through Thine Messengers, and
save us from shame on the Day of Judgment: for Thou never breakest
Thy promise."
195 And their Lord hath accepted of them and answered them: "Never
will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you be he male or female: ye are
members one of another; those who have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom, or suffered harm in My cause, or fought or been
slain; verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into
Gardens with rivers flowing beneath; a reward from the presence of Allah and
from His presence is the best of rewards."
There are
literally hundreds of supplications that are declared by Allah Subhanah in the Quran and in the
various authentic traditions of the Messenger of Allah (saws) which one may
recite for the well being of oneself and his/her fellow brothers/sisters in
faith.
Or, one
may with a sincere heart invoke the Merciful Lord in his/her own words and in
his/her own language, and ask Him for whatever good one desires, for the
Generous Lord is eager and ready to hear and accept the supplicants of His
believing slaves.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 186: And
if My servants ask you, O Prophet, concerning Me, tell them that I am quite near to them. I hear and answer the prayer of the
suppliant, when
he calls on Me. So let them respond to My call and believe in Me.
(Convey this to them),
perhaps they may be guided aright!
Salman reported that the Prophet (saws), said,
"Your Lord, the Blessed and the Exalted One, is Modest and Generous, and
He loathes to turn away His servant empty-handed when he raises his hands to
Him in supplication."
Nu'man b. Bashir reported
that the Prophet (saws), said, "Verily supplication is worship."
Related by Ahmad and Sunan Abu Dawood.
Abdallah b. 'Umar reported
that the Prophet (saws) said, "Hearts are like vessels, some more
attentive and capacious than others. When you supplicate Allah you should be
certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not answer a supplication
that comes from a careless and inattentive heart."
