Tracking emails
Mu'meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this
question:
Recently I recieved an email regarding the
oppression stories of one certain jamaat.......i wanted to forward it to
your forum........but then i thought if they (jamaat) tracks down the sender of
the email my family could be in trouble........i am not afraid of any
consequences myself but i m afraid of any troubles happening to my
family........
Can u advise me if the tracking of emails is
possible......so that i might be sending the email to your forum.
Thank You

Answer:
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Beloved brother, the truth of the matter is that if one is
a computer expert and knows his ways around hacking computers, it would be within his knowledge to track
the senders and receivers of any email, if he wished to do so. We have taken the necessary precautions of
protecting our own sites with the available ‘firewalls’ and ‘anti-virus’
softwares, but if one is genuinely
determined to track something on the net,
it would not be impossible.
If the information you wish to share with us is so
sensitive, that you fear some people
might harm you or your family just for sending the mail, our humble request to you is to safeguard
yourself and your family, and send the mail from a public computer or an
‘internet-café’.
One must take the best possible precautions to safeguard
oneself and one’s family in the life of this world from the evil that
lurks; and then one must always put his
full Trust in Allah Subhanah Alone. The
believers, who truly believe in Allah and the Last Day, must fear none except
Allah Subhanah, the Lord of the
Worlds; and be content in their belief
that no one can harm them if it is not the Will of Allah Subhanah, and no one has the power to withhold the
good that Allah has Decreed for them.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 5302 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas
One day he was riding behind Allah's
Messenger (peace be upon him) who said, “… Know that if all the people were to
unite to bring you some benefit, they could benefit you only with what Allah
had recorded for you; and that if all of them were to unite to do you some
injury, they could injure you only with what Allah had recorded for you. The
pens are withdrawn and the pages are dry."
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in Islam,
