Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's peace,
Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
hi burhan,
i asked a question on your forum but to no avail
i want to knw that whit is the repentence for masturbating and does
masturbating cause any harm on body? your answer would be appreciated and
further more i would like to ask that is kissing also considered zina before
marriage?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above
statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and
statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality)
Answer:
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: i want to knw that whit is the repentence
for masturbating and does masturbating cause any harm on body?
No matter what sins one might have done in the past, if one is sincerely ashamed and fears the
accounting of an Inevitable Day in the presence of their Majestic Lord; and subsequently seeks sincere repentance
from the Merciful Lord for their sins before one’s appointment of death; it is expected that they will find their
Lord Merciful and Forgiving.
The door of repentance is open
until one meets with the appointment of death!
No matter what evil deeds one might have done in the past; if one seeks sincere repentance and
forgiveness from the Merciful Lord and subsequently amends his/her
conduct, Allah Subhanah has promised to
completely wipe out those sins from their Book of Records.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah
Zumur verses 53-54:(O Prophet) say: “O My servants who have wronged their own
souls….Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy!
Surely, Allah forgives all sins. He indeed is the All Forgiving, All Merciful. Return to your Lord and submit to Him before the scourge
overtakes you; for then you may get no
help from anywhere.”
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale
Imraan verse 135-136:Allah likes such good people very much, who, if ever they commit a base deed or wrong
their own soul by the commission of a sin,
remember Allah instantly, and
ask for forgiveness from Him for their shortcomings. For who, but Allah, can forgive sins? (And Allah loves those) who do not knowingly persist in the wrongs
they did. These will be rewarded with
forgiveness from Allah, and with
Gardens beneath which canals flow, and
they will reside therein forever! How
excellent is the reward of those who do good deeds!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa
verses 17-18:Note it well that Allah’s acceptance of repentance is for those
people only, who commit an evil in
ignorance, and then repent of it soon
after. Allah again turns kindly to
such people, for Allah is All
Knowing, All Wise. But there is no repentance for those people
who persist in their evil deeds until the dying hour comes to anyone of
them; then he says, “Now I
repent!.” Nor is repentance for them who
die as unbelievers. For such
people, We have prepared a painful
torment.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah
Anaam verse 54:When those come to you who believe in Our Signs, say: "Peace be on you! Your Lord had inscribed for Himself (the
rule of) Mercy. Verily if any of
you did evil in ignorance, and
thereafter repented and amended (his conduct),
Lo! He is Oft-Forgiving, Most
Merciful."
Whether or not the act of masturbation causes any physical
harm to the body is for the scientists and the researchers of the world to find
out; but the believers know for sure that
when Allah and His Messenger (saws) disapprove of any act, it cannot be good in
any way for the human being; whether
spiritually or physically.
Your Question: and further more i would like to ask that
is kissing also considered zina before marriage?
The act would only be called ‘zina’ when a man and a woman illegally commit the
actual act of physical sexual intercourse.
Holding hands, kissing, talking illicit talk, meeting in
privacy, etc. with a member of the opposite sex who is not a mehram will not be
called ‘zina’, but are paths that lead
to the evil and abomination of ‘zina’!
And when Allah and His Messenger (saws) have declared something
prohibited, all paths that lead to that
‘haraam’ act will also be deemed prohibited.
And if one truly tries to understand and comprehend the
wisdom of the Command of Allah Subhanah regarding ‘zina’, he will realize that Allah enjoins the
believers to ‘not even go near zina’!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah
Israa verse 32:Do not even go near ‘zina’,
for it is a very indecent thing and a very evil way!
Kissing, touching, meeting in privacy with a non-mehram
member of the opposite sex is going near the evil abomination of ‘zina’, and that is something which the All-Knowing,
All Wise Lord has specifically prohibited for the believers.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
