Why are you helping the Dawoodibohras?
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Assalaam Alaikum.
Dear Brother, I am very impressed by this site of yours which provides
comprehensive knowledge about Islam. I would like to know as to when can we
implement complete Islam in our lives since Islam is a deen but we have reduced
it to just a religion at present. I would also like to why you have taken such
keen interest in educating the Bohra community. Thank you.
(There may be some grammatical and spelling
errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from
questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in
confidentiality.)
Answer:
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
We would firstly like to thank
you for your kind comments of encouragement.
May Allah accept yours and our humble deeds and efforts in the
propagation of the Truth of Islam.
Your Question: I would
like to know as to when can we implement complete Islam in our lives since
Islam is a deen but we have reduced it to just a religion at present.
Islam is not only a deen or a
religion, but it is a complete way of
life, where a slave of Allah recognizes
His Lord and Creator through his Signs and Attributes, and submits his will to
the Will and Command of His Creator.
You are right when you say that
most people have taken the religion as rituals and ‘rasms’ and do not implement
Islam completely in their lives!
Islam is not something that one can live part-time, and in the rest of his life, he does what he pleases. When one willingly submits his will to
the Will of his Creator, he cannot do
anything of his own from then on… but rather he should always turn to Allah and
His Messenger (saws) for guidance on every aspect of his life. That is the true spirit of Islam.
Brother, the time to implement Islam into our lives
is NOW! Allah will not ask you or me
what was the condition of the people; He will ask us what did we do with the
guidance sent by Him. Did we accept,
follow and obey His Guidance, or did we deny and reject it? Thus, brother, the time to implement Islam
in our lives is now… before we meet with our appointment of death and there is
no turning back to this world!
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 208:O you who have believed! Enter completely into Islam, and do not
follow the footsteps of Shaitaan, for he is your avowed enemy!
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 29 Surah Ankaboot verse 38:Shaitaan made their deeds fair-seeming
to them and misled them from the right path, although they were sensible
people.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 31-32:O Prophet, tell the people, “If you
sincerely love Allah, follow me. Then
Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for He is All Forgiving, All Merciful.” Also say to them, “Obey Allah and His Messenger.” And if, in spite of this, they do not accept
your invitation, warn them that Allah
does not love those, who refuse to obey
Him and His Messenger.
Your Question: I would
also like to why you have taken such keen interest in educating the Bohra
community.
Most of the brothers who
volunteer their time and effort on this forum were born into Dawoodi Bohra
families. At various times of their
lives, Allah in His Infinite
Mercy, guided them to study the
Glorious Quran and come to the True Deen of Islam.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 66 Surah Tahreem verse 6:O you who have believed, save yourselves and your families from a
Fire whose fuel shall be men and stones;
over which shall be appointed fierce and stern angels, who never disobey Allah’s Command, and they only do as they are commanded!
To this day, many of our family members are still
following the deen of Bohras, and we
are concerned for their Hereafter if they do not leave the ‘shirk’ and come to
the guidance of Allah and His Messenger (saws). After Allah has guided us through His Mercy, we wished that we could help our family and
friends take guidance from the clear teachings of the Glorious Quran; and that resulted in the starting of this
forum. Allah has indeed been very
very Merciful to us, and has allowed and honored us to work in the propagation
of His Deen. We hope and pray that
Allah accepts our humble and weak efforts and forgives us our sins when we
ultimately return to our Merciful Lord.
Allah has made it a duty of
every believer that he spread this knowledge of Truth to whoever is willing to
listen to good caution. Allah has been
merciful to the believers and the only duty He has laid upon us is to declare
the Truth and invite mankind to it. To
accept or reject the invitation is upto the listener.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 28 Surah Qasas verse 56:You cannot guide whom you love, but Allah
guides whomever He Pleases. And He best
knows those who would accept guidance.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 16, Surah An-Nahl Ayat 125:Invite to the way of your Lord with
wisdom and excellent admonition and argue with people in the best manner. Your
Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Way and who is Rightly guided.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verse 164:And remind them that when some people
from among them asked the others, “Why do you admonish those people whom Allah
is about to destroy or punish severely?”
They replied, “We admonish them in order to be able to offer an excuse
before our Lord (that we did invite them to the Truth), and we also hope that
they might refrain from disobedience to Him.”
Thus brother, we are only doing our duty and inviting our
Bohra brethren and anyone who wants to listen to good caution to read and study
the Quran, and align their lives with
its clear teachings and guidance.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verse 29:Proclaim, “This is the Truth from you
Lord: now whoever wills may accept
it, and whosoever wills may reject it”.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in
Islam,
Burhan
