Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

We were guided aright to Friday (as a day of prayer and meditation), but Allah diverted those who were before us from it. The rest of the hadith is the same.

7) باب هِدَايَةِ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ لِيَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ ‏

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ، حَدَّثَنِي رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ، حِرَاشٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ ‏.‏ فَذَكَرَ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ ابْنِ فُضَيْلٍ ‏.‏ "‏ هُدِينَا إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ وَأَضَلَّ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا ‏"
