Narrated Rafi` bin Khadij:

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "Fever is from the heat of Hell, so abate fever with water."

28) باب الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏‏‏.‏ "‏ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَوْحِ جَهَنَّمَ، فَابْرُدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ ‏"
