36) Chapter: What Should Be Said When One Hears The Mu'adhdhin

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As:

A man said: Messenger of Allah, the mu'adhdhins excel us. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Say (the same words) as they say, and when you come to the end, make a petition and that will be granted to you.

36) باب مَا يَقُولُ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ السَّرْحِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ حُيَىٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، - يَعْنِي الْحُبُلِيَّ - عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنِينَ يَفْضُلُونَنَا ‏.‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ ‏.‏ "‏ قُلْ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ فَإِذَا انْتَهَيْتَ فَسَلْ تُعْطَهْ ‏"
