Does she divorce him, What`s she supposed to do Islamically?

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

As slamu alaikom wr wb.
What`s the Islamic advice for a revert woman who married a Muslim Arab man whom she thought would be her husband, lead her in Salat, teach her principles of Islam,etc,......... and who was supposed to be single and with no kids.

After marriage she discovered that he doesn`t pray , he is already married with kids , and the whole matter from the beginning was a lie. He only marrried her for papers. He also left her and works in remote part of the country away from her, he never ,and still, supported her nor their kid but she used to do so.

Does she divorce him, What`s she supposed to do Islamically? Would she divorce him or live with a liar? She doesn`t trust him anymore , she doesn`t trust him as a father because he isn`t a good example as a Muslim for his baby.

Answer:

Lies dishonesty muflis

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 8.116         Narrated by Abdullah

The Prophet (saws) said, "Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a truthful person (in the Sight of Allah Subhanah). Falsehood leads to ‘Al-Fajur’ (i.e. wickedness, evil-doing, etc.), and ‘Al-Fajur’ (wickedness) leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar."

Dear and beloved Sister in Islam, if one has unfortunately chosen to marry a lying and dishonest person, and one finds that the person neither fears Allah, nor the Last Day, nor is sincerely repentant at his lies and his dishonesty and his evil-doing, nor fulfills his duties and responsibilities laid upon him by the Lord Most High…..the wife is well within her rights in Islam, and it would only be prudent and best if she sought to separate from such an evil, impious and dishonest person through the institution of divorce, and there would be absolutely no blame or sin upon her.

Dear and beloved Sister in Islam, it is possible that one might get away with their lies, dishonesty, and evil in the life of this world, but Allah is our witness sister, rest absolutely assured that no evil or injustice or oppression one does in the life of this world will go unaccounted for or without retribution in the Presence of the Lord Most Majestic on that Inevitable Day of Judgment in the Hereafter!  Every single lie, every single act of dishonesty, every single act of tyranny and oppression, every single right which has been unjustly usurped,……Allah is our witness sister, the victim will receive their due and full retribution from their oppressor in the Presence of their Majestic and Supreme Lord, where none will be wronged in the very least!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 47:

47      We shall set up Scales of Justice for the Day of Judgment so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least!  And if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed (good or evil), We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account!

Sahih Muslim Hadith 6251     Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘Do you know who is a ‘muflis’ (abjectly poor or one who is totally bankrupt)?’ They (the Companions (r.a.) of the Prophet (saws)) said: ‘A ‘muflis’ amongst us is one who has neither dirham with him nor wealth.’ He (the Prophet (saws)) said: ‘The ‘muflis’ of my Ummah would be he who would come on the Day of Resurrection with prayers and fasts and Zakah but (he would find himself bankrupt on that day as he would have exhausted his funds of virtues) since he hurled abuses upon others, brought calumny against others, unlawfully consumed the wealth of others, shed the blood of others, and beat others. His virtues would be credited to the account of one (who suffered at his hand). And if his good deeds fall short to clear the account (of his mis-deeds), then their sins would be entered in (his account) and he would be thrown in the Hell-Fire!’

Sahih Bukhari Volume 008 Book 076, Number 541 Narrated by Abu Huraira

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "Whoever has wronged his brother, should ask for his pardon (before his death), as (in the Hereafter) there will be neither a Dinar nor a Dirham. (He should secure pardon in this life) before some of his good deeds are taken and paid to his brother, or, if he has done no good deeds, some of the bad deeds of his brother are taken to be loaded on him (in the Hereafter)."

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
