Why Hadrat Aishas hadith not accepted by the Shias?

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

When there is 1 Quran, 1 Allah and 1 Rasool then why does Muslims differ in Hadiths. For example Hadiths of Hadrat Ayesha are not accepted to be true by Shias. This simply creates a confusion. Can you pls clarify on this matter. Thank You for you good work

Answer:

Why Hadrat Aisha’s hadith not accepted by the Shias?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His  forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,  no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Beloved brother in Islam,  indeed it is true that people who call themselves Shias do not always accept the hadiths that are related by the wife of the Prophet (saws); Hadrat Aisha (r.a) even though,   Allah has called them, ‘the mother of the believers’,    But that statement is only partly true!   A more accurate statement would be that our Shia brethren in fact believe only the hadiths which they want to believe,  or only those which conform to their belief;   any hadith,  however authentic and however truthful the narrator,  if it goes against their set of beliefs…they do not accept it to be true!

The path to true guidance is to study and understand the Quran and the Sunnah;  and align our beliefs according to the clear guidance and teachings of these two sources of learning.   Forming a set of beliefs first,  and then searching the Quran and Sunnah only for those verses and hadiths that verify the formed set of beliefs,  cannot be considered the path to true guidance!

May Allah Subhanah have Mercy on the Ummah of Islam,  help them,  guide them,  and unite them in the worship of the One and Only True Lord of the Worlds.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
