I fail to understand the logic that self masturbation is a sin while a huband and a wife can masturbate each other.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

What is a blow job in sex?Is it allowed in Islam? I fail to understand the logic that self masturbation is a sin while a huband and a wife can masturbate each other. This involves the same process and after effects are the same.A man has tiredness, weakness ,drowsiness, uneasiness and unhappiness (not satisfied)afterwards, whether he does so himself or by his wife. Please explain scientifically,if possible.

Answer:

Prohibited Sex

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His  forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,  no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your question: What is a blow job in sex?Is it allowed in Islam?

Blow job or Oral sex is the name given to the act whereby the man or the woman touches their partner’s sexual organs with their mouth.

The acts that Allah and His Messenger have forbidden in a sexual relationship between husband and wife are:

Anal sex.

Having sexual intercourse with the woman during her menses.

Some scholars have also voiced their opinion against touching either of the partner’s sex organs with the mouth.  But because nothing is mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah about this particular act,  the scholars have not said it is forbidden… The most they have said is that this act is closer to the forbidden than to the permissible;  and thus one should fear Allah Subhanah and stay away from this act as it is considered impure,  unclean and unhealthy.

Your question:  I fail to understand the logic that self masturbation is a sin while a huband and a wife can masturbate each other. This involves the same process and after effects are the same.A man has tiredness, weakness ,drowsiness, uneasiness and unhappiness (not satisfied)afterwards, whether he does so himself or by his wife. Please explain scientifically,if possible.

The act of masturbation is when a man alone,  without his wife,  either through fantasizing,  or with the help of vulgar and evil books,  magazines,  movies, etc. rubs his private parts in his hands until he reaches the state of ejaculation.   This solo act is completely forbidden in Islam.

Its obvious that most normal men would not masturbate with their wives,  when he is allowed to have actual sexual intercourse with her.   It is only when he is not permitted to have actual intercourse with his wife,  due to her menses,  or post-child birth period,  or for any medical reason, etc.,  where a normal person would take this route of enjoying everything with his wife except actual intercouse.   And this route is perfectly legal and permissible in Islam.

Why?

Allah Subhanah,  Who created man and the woman,  also created their nature,  whereby man and woman are sexually attracted to each other.   When they sexually meet and mate as a couple in marriage,  it builds a bond of love,  trust,  care,  belonging,  and responsibility for each other;  and only through this relationship can the future race of mankind  be preserved.   Thus under normal circumstances,  the man would conjugate with his wife and fulfill his and her physical natural requirements.   But in certain conditions when it is prohibited for them to mate,  and the couple have the urge to fulfill their natural physical requirement,  this route is laid open for them by Islam.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, "Do everything (during the woman’s menstruation) except intercourse." (Related by Muslim,  Tirmidhi,  Abu Dawood)

Just imagine if the man was allowed to always fantasize and masturbate,  it is obvious he would not take up the responsibilities of marriage, that are a result of this physical and natural attraction with the opposite sex;  and the future of mankind would ultimately be in danger of being extinct!    Besides,  this solo act of attaining temporary pleasure is unnatural,  and would open up the routes of evil and indecency in society,  whereby products are made available which would help arouse his sexual senses like indecent books, magazines, movies, massage parlors,  striptease joints,  etc.   In such a society,  the ungodly and immoral woman will be employed overtime; and the God-fearing and righteous woman would find it difficult,  if not impossible,  to fulfill her natural duties and responsibilities!

Islam guides towards building God-fearing and righteous people in a society;  and not a society where indecency, vulgarity,  and evil are considered the norms.

If one trusts,  obeys,  and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws),   he can be assured of never ever being misled;   but if one believes,  obeys and follows any other guidance,  other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws),  he can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
